    Leupold 6X42 heavy duplex

I purchased this a while back thinking that I would like the heavy duplex more than I do. Leupold M8 6X42, Gloss finish, heavy duplex reticle. Optics are very good. I can't find anything wring with the glass. The tube does show some wear. mostly scratches and a few chips in the finish. No dents or heavy gouges, though. $175 FTF (North Tucson/OV/Catalina)

    Cylinder stove for large tent

I purchased this with a 14X12 tent several years ago. I have never used it and would like to get it out of my shed. The nameplate says Cylinder stoves, Cedar City, UT. It measures 24" long, 13.5" diameter, and stands 22" off the ground with the legs attached. (they are removable and can be stowed in the stove with the stovepipe.) about 10 feet of 5" stovepipe included. $150 in the North Tucson/OV/Catalina area. As per always, trades considered!

    Your First Big Game Rifle?

My first big game rifle was a Brazilian mauser in 8X57. In the late 70s, my father purchased the barreled action from a local gunshop in for $20. He had the bolt sporterized, the action drilled and tapped, and put it in a utility grade stock from Fajens. Topped with a 3-9 bushnell sportview, I killed my first two big game animals with it. The first rifle that I ever purchased was a Winchester 70 XTR chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. I bought it used out of the local classifieds (not only am I old enough to remember newspapers, but I can remember when they had a firearms section in the classifieds!) Anyway, I got the rifle, with a harris bipod, leupold 2.5-8, sling, 2 boxes of ammo for $400. Not bad for a college kid on a budget. Side note: I still have both rifles (or actions anyway) the mauser has had the bolt face opened up and has been rebarreled to .257 wby, and the model 70 spent a few years as a .257 until I shot the barrel out. Now, I am going to build a 7mm of some sort on it for my son.

Advice wanted - crazy gun sale

What a horrible tragedy if what she is telling you is true. That being said, I'd be very leery of any conversations with the family of the deceased in fear of some kind of future litigation. You weren't a friend of this kid. you didn't know him. If he hung himself with a rope, would she go to Ace hardware and try to strike a conversation with the fellow that sold him the rope? Maybe I sound heartless, but If I were you, I wouldn't meet her.

Great tent! These are a breeze to set up and are very durable. I wish I had gotten the vestibule for mine. Olmos, send me a message if you think you'd be willing to sell the vestibule separate from the tent.
