We saw two groups of illegals in 36b. A group of 8 and a group of 6. All were wearing dark green outfits and carrying largish backpacks. None of them appeared to be armed. Both instances, we called border patrol to report them.

I am putting this out here because I know many of you are in the PHX area. I live in the Tucson area Yesterday, on the way to scout for my daughter's jr. Elk hunt, the transmission in my truck crapped out on the beeline, almost to Rye. AAA got me as far a Mesa last night. I am having trouble locating a trailer big enough to haul my pickup home. (03 silverado 2500hd, crew cab, long bed) I might be better off finding a good shop in the area (near bass pro) to have the transmission fixed rather than paying for a tow back here. Soooo... any recommendations? I am taking tomorrow off to get this taken care of.

Not yet.... The work is done. Transfer case was shot as well. I have a ride to PHX lined up Wednesday morning. Just in time for my daughter's elk hunt!

In regards to the original post, my daughter and I are getting ready for her hunt in 5A. She's 17 and this is her last youth elk hunt. We did a lot of looking around when and where we could this summer between rain storms. Last week's scouting trip was canceled due to truck problems. We will probably camp in the vicinity of Blue Ridge res. Older chevy 3/4 and a new Kodiak Tent! Swing by if in the area!

I have a Cabela's bighorn II tent for sale. 12X14 with 8"6" center height. Chimney jack and zip out for stove, Lots of room. Great tent for 2-3 big cots. If going with 4 cots, it will get tight. Lots of windows, good ventilation It has been used 3-4 times per year for the last five years. No rips or tears, always put away dry. I did replace the yellow plastic stakes with 10" spikes. Removeable floor liner. Easy to set up. One person can get it up in about thirty minutes. Even quicker with two. $450 In Catalina (Tucson area) Photo is pulled off the internet. I am looking through my hunting pics to see if I have an image of the actual tent that I am selling. I am heading up to scout for an elk hunt this weekend. Will be going through PHX and Payson.

Again, thanks all. I spoke with three different shops. Ended up going with Transmissions Done Right because he has a rebuilt 4L80 ready to go and can get to me this week. One shop wasn't going to be able to look at the truck until next week. I would like to have the truck ready for my daughter's elk hunt in early October. 240K miles... I have been expecting something like this! As much as it hurts financially, it is cheaper than a down payment on a new rig!

I appreciate this! I think its going to be easier to get the job done up there than try to tow the rig to Tucson. Three good leads beats the heck out of going at it blind.

Set of four tires/rims from my 03 Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd. 8 hole chevy rims will fit 03-07 3/4 tons and probably others as well. Tires are Hercules Terra Trac 265/75/16 load range E. They are pretty well used, but have a little life left in them. Never been patched or plugged. Centercaps included. $150 takes all four of them. Located in Catalina.
