-
I've lurked here longer than I care to mention...Great site and great lil deer, jealous of you that get to chase 'em all the time! Hope you have a great 2012 season!
-
Here's another two year old...He had a 10" beard also... So have you cooked any yet?
-
For me, I'd say two to two and a half year old (2 1/2)...Great bird!
-
Usually spurs go from nubs on Jakes to an inch plus on older birds...However a Biologist would have to come into this to tell us for sure on aging. I've killed a lot of birds (Not bragging!) and have killed mature birds with no spurs at all to birds with broken, worn spurs...This Texas gobbler has killer spurs and no beard (Beard rot!)...Huge bird though!

I'll be waiting to read what happens next year with you guys. You and Matt have me rolling every time an az coues topic hits the bowsite board. Welcome. LoL! Thank you sir, just remember it's always Matt's fault!

Thank you, a ton of fun to chase in the Spring and Fall... Adam, just license and Upland Game Stamp we have no 'tag's for them here (Yet!)...We can take three (3) bearded birds in the Spring and one (1) 'either sex' in the Fall per year....About one of the only good things we have going on over here! Anywhere along the Western Sierra's can be good, as populations took off some time ago...We have some costal and mountain areas also...If I can be of any help to anyone let me know...
-
Thanks everyone...Steven, looking forward to it!
-
That's one great bird, congrats to your dad big time...
-
Great bird, how long were his Spurs as this is how you can kind of get a age from...

First bird was one of the Jakes above, second was this one, that made his way through the Jake Fiasco...9" Beard with 1" spurs and great colors!
-
Jakes were crazy this year and were quick to mess up your set-up/hunt when given the chance!
-
Anyone chase 'em this Spring...We had a great one here and I actually took one of my better if not the best bird yet! Whoops, found the Turkey section...

Thank you... He had character and that'll do it for me everytime...
