    Rifle bull hunt

Since I plan on filling the freezer this year with elk and deer of my own. I will trade that quarter of meat for some jack daniels and a 30 pack of coors light.

    Rifle bull hunt

6a bull starts Nov 30 better than Xmas. Deer hunt starts the 9th and all I can't wait for is my elk hunt.
  12. One of the worst feelings ever and still haunts me to this day of wounding a bull elk and not finding it. I put two 7mm 150 grain Remington Swift Scirocco's into the vitals and after blooding trailing the elk for over a mile it just stopped bleeding. I had both pink lung blood and good red blood and it just stopped bleeding. It did run towards a water hole like many are saying on here but then POOF. Spent the next two days looking for crows or trying to find some coyotes howling around my bull and nothing. I still have nightmares about that day. For elk now I dont go for the vitals, as bad as it may sound, rather break that front shoulder, catch up to the 3 legged animal and finish the job. Something like this should not just go away but remind you everyday about how much you need to respect an admire these animals because they are truely one of gods gifts.

    Game carts

I bought a cart from Cabelas and destroyed it getting one elk out of the field. The tires that it comes with are not very good for anything other than a flat surface, we ended up knocking the rubber off the tire wheel. We had to have two people in the front pull the cart while one person in the back lifted it over any larger rocks, back breaking work to say the least. I bought another cart from Cabelas and took it to our welding shop added handles on both sides of the cart, bought some 80 dollar wheels and a new axle, and added length onto the cart itself. I will take a picture and upload it when I get home. I would not take a stock cart out in the woods to go get my elk ever again more of a hassel than a help. Now for deer you might not have to BEEF up your cart as much.

  18. I was listening to a gentleman yesterday that was on every goverment welfare program there is in the state. I could not help and notice how Drugged out this guy was, meth, coke, whatever. My problem is why the heck are we paying for his drugs?? Why are these people not drug tested? Now Im not saying all people on welfare are druggies but should us the tax paying public pay for their Drugs. http://www.statisticbrain.com/welfare-statistics/ Almost 132 Billion dollars annually is spent each year(not including food stamps or Unemployment) on our welfare system. Why should the tax paying public buy their drugs????? Im not against anyone that does drugs, beer, perscription pain killers, coffee lol, whatever thats your choice but when I am paying for it I have a problem. If our goverment would just pass a law saying that everyone who recieves goverment funding is subject to drug testing , fail = no $$$$, pass and here is your cash. Bet the amount of money spent towards the bottom half of our society would be different. I just dont get why we should Invest in all these losing people, that are doing nothing to help Our society. Just been one of those days, 44 days till deer and 65 days till elk and I cant wait to get away from all this crap. Good luck to all hunting this year may your pellets, bullets and arrows fly straight and hit their mark.

    Late Bull Hunt

When I get to my uncles house in Bakersfield I will send pics of his 367 bull and his 345 bull shot on the late hunt, to go along with my dads 332. I have seen bachelor herds where the smallest bull was 300 inches so I guess to each their own. You won't see me pull the trigger until day 5 on something small.

    Late Bull Hunt

I have always been drawn for the late bull hunt. Rule of thumb for me has always been to wait till the 3rd day of the hunt, that's when the big boys show up.
