Goose Recipes??
6ANut replied to s.teel12358's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
As my dad's friend says" If cooked wrong, the dog won't even it eat" Brine, don't over cook it and you should be okay, but that skin is the key to making it taste awesome. -

Duck and Goose fat are the best, so yes it will, but not a huge deal. Try to wrap it in bacon and make sure you brine it for a little longer. For next time, keep that skin on for both ducks and geese, then cut em out. I have made goose apps before where I thinly slice the breast, give it a little flour batter and fried them up but still not as good as cooking them in the goose/duck fat. -

Congrats on your first goose. Pluck the breast clean, make sure to leave the skin on. Cut out each breast piece and brine the brest meat for a day or so. Cook breast, fat side down on medium heat ,cover as needed and keep spooning the goose fat over the breast. Cook Med Rare and enjoy. -
best cooler canyon or yeti

The price is shocking but if u think about how long a igloo cooler lasts compared to a yeti, it was a in brainier for me. If you use a cooler a few times a year then yeah igloo works but when your cooler spends months in the woods, its well worth it. Had my yeti for over 2 years and it still looks brand new. The money I have saved on ice alone last 2 years probably buys me and igloo cooler. -
Happy Bday Amanda, thanks again for the best hunting site on the web.

best cooler canyon or yeti
6ANut replied to hunter72's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
It does exactly what it says it does, keeps ice longer. I had both out on a hunt same conditions and never added ice to the yeti for a 4 day hunt, south of Tucson in January. The canyon I added ice day 3. My buddies had the " cheap igloo" and were adding ice every day. I am not at all saying canyon coolers are not a good cooler but in my experience Yeti is hands down the best. I like the handles better and also the locking system is better IMO. -

As mentioned Google earth helps to get a good lay of the land in a particular area you are hunting but nothing can beat getting on a dirt road and exploring the unit you were drawn in. I spent a whole summer few years ago, soley looking for roads I had not been on in 6A, what a summer. I too get my fair share of " I got drawn for 6A and I dont know anything about the unit" I tell them kindly to go pound some sand. My words of advice if you are asking for help on this site, its best to have certain areas you want to hunt in mind, BEFORE asking for help. heck G&F will give you good spots to hunt right off the website. My favortie PM's respond to start with " I plan on hunting this area ................., What are your thoughts?" When I say this area I dont mean general areas like Stoneman Lake rd either. It has taken most of us generations to learn about a particular unit and when you come on here, asking for help, on your first or second post, personally you are insulting most of us that have put in countless hours, miles on a dirt road, and probably lost the person( Grandpa/ Dad etc.) that taught us the unit.

I am installing a new ceiling fan and have to replace the bracket that screws into the wall. I have one screw I can not get out of the wood stud. Any help would be awesome on how to get the screw out. it is not stripped yet but getting there. The baby is due in a week or so and mama bear is getting pissy about the eye sore in the princess room. Also if I can't get it removed then I will need a north phx handy man if anyone has a good recommendation.
