Kettle Creek Grinz-N-Gray hand call put to the test
josh replied to Hyperwrx's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Well done dude Can't wait to get out there! -
I think it looks good. As stated the bucks taken that time of year should look much smaller. Way to go on a great velvet buck!

I understand the urge to shoot those cats this time of year but knowing that going out having fun hunting can make you some serious cash gives me enough reason to pass on the cats right now. Now that you have called and killed a couple they will start appearing more. So don't think this s will be the only cat you see this season. You and Casey are crazy about predator hunting and get out a bunch so you will have alot more success this year. As far as help putting up the furs if you skin them as soon as you shoot them it will help a ton then freeze them. At some point this year we can get together and put them up. The other choice is to come up to the Arizona Predator Callers meetings. They usuallly have a bunch of guys that know there stuff when it comes to fur and making $$. In fact this year they are having a contest to see who can put up and sell the highest $$ amount of fur at the Globe fur auction this year. I believe the winner gets a new gun.

Good job on the cat. I know it is hard but you guys should try to lay off killing those cats this time of year. In a couple of months that same cat that is worth nothing right now could be worth a couple hundred bucks with the right handling of that pelt. I will show you how to put that fur up so you could makes some $$ this season.

Wow great looking buck Lars! That might make me cancel the Alaska trip.

Ah the rest of that story is if Ernesto would have done what i told him to do he would have killed a couple of those large coyotes, but no he went and stood somewhere else and I had to call and do the dirty work. Youre right Scotty that was a pretty awesome shot I made on that coyote.
-
Hey wait a second Ernesto you forgot how strong I am. This was a big old male.Probably one of the bigger dogs I shot last year but far from a fifty pounder. Would have loved to take this pelt back home.

Since there is so much talk about taxidermists on here lately I Thought I would share this fox I just recieved back this weekend, also my buck he did that was taken in Oct.

Ernesto I do have one coyote mount but it is a pedastal on my desk. It is actually a pretty neat mount. It was a really thick furred coyote I took a few years ago. You can see it in this pic on the desk. Dug I have a predator calling partner that hates deer hunting and begged me not to put in for a deer tag this year so we can hopefully finish our DVD. So no I do not have a deer tag for the first time in six years. It feels kinda weird. Also heading back up to Alaska in sep. to help a buddy of mine with some bear hunts.

Hey Chris now that I have my den finished there is too much wall space. I need to get out there and get them filled up. Here are some pics that show some cats for you Casey.

My friend and calling partner Scott and I have been busy this season racking up some time calling behind cameras in order for an upcoming predator hunting video focusing on grey fox and bobcats.. Here are a few of the critters called and caught on camera. I hope you all enjoy. http://www.hyperwrx.com/Hunting/Sequence%2001.wmv

Well done Casey. The baboons are way cool. I hope you are doing a full body mount with one of them at least. Did you do any predator calling over there?

If you need a left handed model I know of one for sale at a great price. It has taken many of those grey's you are after and does a pretty good job with the fur

Save the domestics for your next pair of mittens they make great liners

Try looking on taxidermy .net in there forums under lifesize mounts

How many of each? Are they stretched? Cats have done ok this season just depending on quality. I might be interested.

It is very real and effective if you put the time and training into the dog. Tony has a bunch of his video's on youtube as well.
