The First Mountain Lion Called in and Killed Under AZ's New Night Hunting Regs
THE RIFLEMAN replied to Healy Arms's topic in Wildlife Callers Blog
My bad Mr Healy...... I heard the rumor from a young guy that works at the sportsman and now he won't say who it was, I heard that Dave Marten's killed a huge Tom a couple of weeks ago! Is that true where is the pics? -
Poe & Young , Boone & Crocket and SCI all count/measure the eyeguards ......Saw off the eye guards and then it will be a 3 point! Last i checked they still measure the eyeguards! NICE 4X4 !

WHAT KIND OF BAIT IS THAT?
-
Is that another game commissioner out hunting with his kid! LOL
-
Gutting/field dressing is a thing of the past ....... Unless you are attracted to getting bile , piss and poop all over you before you handle the edible parts!
-
If it gets too crowded on the peaks try the north side of Sunset crater around Wupatki area. The elk in there rarely get hunted !
-
Hunter Orange is only mandatory if you are from Illinois or any other place - That is how we keep track of non native hunters!
-
I said the biologists at G&F are biased against hunting - They would love to have hunting stopped and let the wolves take care of our deer, elk & antelope.... They are beaurocrats with college degrees that think the know it all!!! Beaurocrat=democrat=liberal=more government=less freedom&moretaxes! I bet everyone of the biologists at G&F voted for Obama and will again!

Wont get much for that from the local fur buyers!

Thank you for taking the time to provide input. Regards, Kurt Davis -----Original Message----- From: John Noble [jnobleinaz1@cox.net] Sent: Friday, October 12, 2012 08:14 AM US Mountain Standard Time To: Kurt R.Davis Subject: against rule change on baiting Subject: against rule change against baiting Comment: Rulemaking Panel. Thank you for the chance to voice my questions and concerns. I am an arizona resident since 1983. I am not in favor of the rule change against using salts, minerals and consumable products as a hunting method. Here are some of my problems with this rule change. A. Where is the factual scientific data showing the effect on the wild animals of arizona from using minerals and consumable products as a hunting method. B. Where are the case studies depicting which type of harvest method effects big game animals and how many animals are taken over salt licks and baiting sites. C. Mandatory harvest reports on all big game animals with these methods listed for a choice. D. Specific data showing what diseases are transferred from a salt or mineral site vs the water sources they congregate and drink from. E. Data showing the tax dollars that will be lost from all the salt and mineral based products also to include corn and other products like “deer cane”, camping supplies, fuel, and food items that are bought in order to set these products out into the forest. In order to make this rule change I would request that all the above be used and be made public to show the conservationist’s. And to not develop and enact a rule based on Theory. Theory is not a factual source. I do not agree that any other study from any other state should be used as well. We have our own micro climate in az and the study should only pertain to that. Thank you and I look forward to a reply. Type: Comment Regarding: Wildlife/Fish Management John Noble Noble Refrigeration LLC "One thing is certain: we all have the right and duty to tell the G&F how we feel on the subject. It's easy to send an e-mail to them. If you don't take the time to at least express your opinion you don't have any right complaining whatever the outcome." The above statement is meaningless...The AZGFD is a state beauracracy run by people that could care less about what hunters or the general public opinion is! Not to run down education or "science" but the highly educated "wildlife biologists" are highly biased against hunting and wish to regulate it into oblivian! "Scientific Sudy's" done by these biased people will always result in new laws and hunters losing more oportunity's. Jnoble for you to assume that the AZGFD is correct in all its actions is a slippery slope..... You sound like a democrat! I do like your list of sudies and concernes that shoulkd be completed before making any new law! Like I said the commission would just pitch it in the round file and do as they please!

Biden is lying sack of cow poo! Ryan was presidential and to the point business like to a fault....! I like Ryan more than I like Romney !

Spot on its about control ..... It won't matter how many hunters "voice their opinions" the commission will do as they please - In fact they have allready madwe up tyheir minds to take away another method of hunting! I do not personally bait but I will not begrudge another hunter that right or critisize it unfairly! I have discovered bait sites out in the forests of 22 and I respect that another hunter has worked at creating an oportunity to harvest a deer..... On the other hand he does not own or have exclusive rights to "his set up" - left on publ;ic land its open for use to another wether it be a hunter or some other form of enjoyoing the forest!!!!! Most of the "baiting" occurs on private property in units 22 & 23 this is the bone of contention when it comes to archery success rates and disease transmissions.... When property owners dump 1000"s of pounds of bait out for the deer and elk it becomes an issue to the knee jerk law makers that believe they can stop it by making more uninforceable laws. .... There are allready county laws in place prohibiting feeding deer, elk , javalina and predators on private property if they want to stop most of the bad type of baiting then enforce the existing laws! And yes I believe there is a vast difference between a small pile of corn or a feeder and dumping thousand of pounds of bait in a huge pile! There are incoorect ways to feed the deer and any wildlife biologist would agree the huge pile method is not correct! Again I say enforce the existing laws before making new ones!!!! More laws just give the takers more power less laws are always the best way to preserve our freedoms!

Is there a cure or drug that could be put in the feed, salt and water to inoculate/protect the deer and elk from disease's ????? That would be the most pro active form of fighting CWD and other disease's ...... !

Things your huntin buddies do that drive you nuts : )
THE RIFLEMAN replied to twigsnapper's topic in The Campfire
Making mistakes on the hunting applications resulting in kicked back applications or wrong hunt draws thus wasting valuable bonus points! Not scouting or hunting because of football games/favorite teams in play offs ect ....! Hunting is always more important than football...... -
Yes it is political - Initiated and pushed by a few shelfish and egotistical knowitall dingbats .......Go to the AZGF commission meetings and put faces and names to these leftwing nut jobs it may surprize you... I have and now I privately steer buisness away from certain hunting/archery shops - I know it cost them $$$$$$$.....

After 6 posts I am sure the feeling is farily mutual.............we buy beef, well, at least me and the mouse in my pocket. I think most have stated that if there was substanial information, data, etc regarding this measure here in the state of Az they would listen to the proposal. From your post it is more of a "have it your way." approach. I suspect tat Jbird and Str8snot are related .... Posibly cousins! Two tools sharing a box!

And we may have little disease and no CWD in our herds now ..... But What if????? What if they never transplanted Elk from Yellow Stone in 1913 after hunting Took out the last of the Native Elk in AZ..... I am sorry but I have a little more faith that the majority of those in G&F that they are trying to their job to manage our herds and keep our sport and right to harvest for meat Alive... That does not mean I agree with everything, and many things that have happened within the political realm of commission when it comes to revenue, the general fund, to the wolf program I disagree with... But if regulations were not put in place in the early 1900's the then current trends in hunting would have destroyed most big game herds and we would all be playing golf today and not enjoying the ability to harvest from our beautiful forest lands. PLEEZ GO PLAY GOLF YOU FIT IN THERE!!!!!

Most of the baiting is done on private land in just a few units.... The counties in these units already have laws prohibiting the feeding of deer, javalina and predators .... Why make new laws when the the law dogs cant inforce the existing laws???? The baiters will still keep on baiting especially if its on their private property!!!! And jhonny law won't be able to do much about it! Just a buch of wind blowin through the mindless heads of folks who think they are in charge! Most of the deer and elk in the "baiting units" 22 & 23 are poached any how !!!!!

Putting cameras up on water holes and leaving them for weeks is inviting theives to steal them No amount of cables, chains or lag bolts will prevent theiverie..If I have to leave cameras out and go to work or other areas then my method to prevent this is to put my cameras out on Sunday as late in the day as possible an then pick them up early as possible on the following Saturday. If I am staying in an area to scout I will try to remove all my cameras from high traffic areas during weekends. One camera cannot usually monitor an entire waterhole so I put out as many as it takes to cover the entire area... With the smaller cameras like the Covert I have found that a small tripod works great because there just aint allways a tree where you need one. Placed infront of a rock, bush or downed tree the little cameras are virtually invisible... I will also place cameras monitoring the roads/trails leading to the water hole to snag license plate info of potential camera burglers. Putting 4 0r 5 cameras up for 1 or 2 days in the middle of the week will tell me alot more about what critters are visiting a waterhole than one camera will in 2 weeks with less chance of getting stolen! This is what I have learned from experience I didn't just cook this up. Its been years since I have had a camera stolen and I attribute it to using these methods!

Yes and a misdemeanor becomes a felony when the perp decides to posess a firearm durring the commison of a misdemeanor ... Wich is what this thief did! I have pictures of him with his side arm removing my camerea from where I set it! He had two weapons in his vehicle besides his side arm .... Lots of possible felony charges ...... BTW all charges towards me are dropped and all my court costs/legal fees have been paid in fuil in an agreement that I would not not counter sue! In other words I wont be losing my right to carry , hunt , vote ect.... -

DO NOT GO TO "FIVE STAR ENGINES" OF GLENDALE AZ THEY ARE RIPP OFFS! -
What do they say about people feeding the birds in their back yards... As the deer and pigs love to eat birdseed ... I have found that food plots work way better then corn, By accident the grain sprouted at the bait station and the deer prefered the sprouts to grain! So now I rake wild bird seed into areas around my tree satnd if ya get this done before the monsoon the sprouts are iresistable .... Wild parsimons are also irrestable to whitetail... Hmm a wild food plot .....
