Decently lightweight and very sturdy, Slik Pro 724CF. Tried the 824 and to heavy. I run the outdoorsmans dual head on my and love it. Have gone through some very expensive tripods and heads to figure this combination out. The outdoorsman medium tripod wasn't the greatest at full height with binos and spotter on it very wobbly. At lower it was ok. So i gave to our 6 yr old. Kid loves to sit and glass.

I have a rifle hunt in unit 23. If your hunting alone. Pm me if you need help packing out. Its very rough country and spotty cell service at best. You have to know the unit well or have sat phone. My wife shed hunts alone in 23 twice a week but its personal preference. Let us know if you need help if i am not there i can make it form one house to the other in an hour 15 and help you out. That is so awesome. Kids are so much fun to hunt with. One of ours is 6 and been shooting and archery since he was 3. Make sure you keep us all updated on pics and stores, those are the best. Congrats to the hong last and proud papa. Now the memories begin.

Many of you know the whole story with Jeff Paulson and all the bull crap that went along with him screwing over tons of people. Well his brother has frantically been trying to pick up the pieces of what jeff has caused. He is the brother in law to one of my very good friends so i was fortunate to be able to put a ton of pressure on him and also try to help out anyone that was wronged by Jeff. So i just wanted to come here and say Tom Paulson finally got my first ever archery deer today. Shot this buck in jan of 2013. He does amazing work and would like others to see he is nothing like his brother and will do everything possible to make things right. If anyone is still having issues with the mounts i should be able to help out. On the legal end, i will stay away from that. Thanks for reading

The new forest road management plan. If you don't have one you should get the new official map as to what is an open road. The new rules don't require a closed sign on a road to be closed. The road needs to be on the map as open to be open. That's how I understand it. Maps are free at the office or call them for one. No sign is a bunch of garbage in my opinion. My 2 favorite roads have gates on them that remain open but are closed according to the map. If you don't want me in there close the gate that's already there! Another ridiculous part is when you have to pack an elk 2 miles down a perfectly good road because forest service says it's closed. OUTRAGEOUS! <end rant> Wasn't there a bylaw where you could drive in to retrieve game on a closed road? But only to retrieve it? I could have sworn i saw something but could be wrong.
