I am no bioligist but I believe some cactus bucks do shed their velvet and even their antlers just not on a routine basis like most deer some bucks may shed their antlers every coulple years others will hold them and continue growing in full velvet having the velvet literally hang off of there horns. I've seen cactus buck sheds and the antler is very light weight with a extremely concave pedicle. some are narly looking and others I've seen are fairly normal

That shed was officially scored by Amanda and by Josh for NASHC at 79 6\8" freakin unreal and to top it off, it is off of a buck still on the hoof on one of Jims ranches he intends to hunt this year Unreal is an understatement That's what dreams are made of right there. Does Jim need help carrying his gun or anything down there? I work cheap Hey coues sniper one thing I learned about Jim Reynolds is that even though he knows theres bucks like that on his ranches he doesnt try to bolgart them for himself he is just as happy to see another hunter get one as he is if it was him so it should be interesting to see how things go this year . Maybe you should buy a tag youd feel a whole lot better carrying your own rifle if you ran up on one of them monsters! LMAO! -

Went out today for a little while to check on a herd of muley that I've been watching and found two good bucks both still packin there head gear the bigger buck being around 180ish . While we were walking back to the truck my boys found this , the way they screamed I thought one of them was bit by a snake until I seen em running toward this head.Way to go Boys! After all the excitement from them finding a nice buckskull we found this car so My boyz decided to take it for a little cruise! Then finally after a nice lil hike we made it back to the truck so they could get home and show momma there findings.

+1 !!! Amanda I take these boys every chance I have the older one has found two buckskulls and when we went with Jim Reynolds and Jake shed hunting he was the only one to find some bone it was a old chalky spike but the look he had when he skunked his dad and one of the best shed hunters around was priceless. He is the short haired kid and he is old enough now that I will be putting him in for juniors only mule deer this year, That is the reson I've been watching this herd so close. These boys will be ten times the hunter I hope to be when they are older. They never stop surprising me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
