Too bad you couldn't seal the deal on the bigger buck. Thanks for sharing

So with all this being said. I'm wondering how many dedicated coues hunters are going to put in for these hunts to try an take a giant Muley?
-
Haha that's pretty close to the truth

I couldn't agree more with 308nut. Another managment unit I would like to see the game and fish experiment with is 37b. I don't know maybe cut out one of the early hunts all together and put 25 or 50 December tag? I live in a community very close to 37b and honestly every fall I see way to many younger bucks killed. I honestly think it has great potential if it were to be managed correctly

After watching my dad succesfully harvesting his first deer earlier this month. I had the pleasure of once again getting to go on my sister late Jr hunt. Opening morning found us hunting some low rolling hills to either find a coues or mule deer, after hunting for a few hours that only produced a few does being seen. We went back to camp to regroup and meet up with a couple of my buddies who were willing to lend a hand to help find her a buck. We decided that we would split up and glass some different canyons. At about 3 o'clock my mom glassed up my sisters buck at about 550 yards. I snuck her to within 305 yards and the rest is history. She killed her 2nd buck on opening day about 200 yards from the spot she killed her first buck 2 years ago. I couldn't be any prouder than I am of my sister now I just hope she sticks with it. When we were packing out the buck my mom snapped a photo and I can honestly say from the face my sister is making its my favorite hunting picture.

Congrats and welcome to coues hunting you are going to be truly hooked for life

Wow just reading that story I got the sick feeling I'm sure your friend had when he realized he lost his rack. Its nice knowing that there still are some people in this world that are willing to to a great deed. Hope to see pictures of that buck soon.

Thank you all and yeah Stanley she is mostly real shy with cameras but I like how she acts after killing a deer

Yeah I swear my mom has a set of eyes I would die to have. She glasses without a tripod and can find deer all day long. My wife was reading the post right now and she insisted that I post her favorite picture of the hunt. I can honestly say it is quite comical if you got your mind in the gutter. Enjoy

Yeah I asked him if was gonna mount it but he said no but he has been busy working on a european mount. I'm considering buying him the skull hooker for it when he is done with it

After finding out the draw results for 2011 I thought this was going to be another year of not being able to make it out with my dad. Due to my work schedule and other priorities I have not been able to go with him for about 5 years. This year I was able to move somethings around and made it out opening morning of his hunt. We glassed up two bucks right away at first light and I kept tabs on them while they fed to see where they were going to bed. After watching them make their way into a palo verde thicket the smaller of the two bucks made his way towards the bottom of the canyon. Guessing the bigger one was bedded down we made our way into about 150 yards of the thicket. While we moved positions the smaller buck came back to bed with the other buck. After setting my dad up for the shot the small buck busted out and gave dad a shot at a full run which my good friend who was with us confirmed was a clear miss. Well after the miss my dad was down in the dumps. He has been hunting for nearly 26 years now and at the end of the hunts its always the story of the one that got away. I tried my best to help him stay positive and reminded him that the other buck hadn't busted out. So we got another angle of the thicket and found the other buck bedded next to a palo verde. The rest was history as Dad made a good shot on the bedded buck with a quick follow up shot to anchor him for good. He isn't the biggest buck on the mountain but the memoory will last a lifetime. I am truly thankful for my Dad and family to raise me as a hunter and I am thankful that the man upstairs made it possible for me to be by my dads side for this. At 46 he killed his 1st and hopefully for many years to come we can enjoy many more together. Dad and I with his buck

Hey Richard my dad said to tell you thank you

It was really nice to be able to be with him Lucky and yeah Sundevil he wanted to find more hobbies but with a wife and son who love to hunt he decided to stick with it.

Thank you. Now hopefully we can get my sister on a good one on her upcoming hunt.

The year was 2004 on the late JR hunt in unit 32 I was 17 and it was my last year of elegibilty to put in for jr hunts. I missed a pretty decent 4x4 mule deer early in the morning and shot this buck right before dark. It was probably one of the best misses I've ever made. He scores right at 75.

Awesome. Thank you for the story and congratulations on a beautiful buck.

Well I finally convinced my fiancee to let me put a sticker on our Tahoe, but as you can see I had to meet her in the middle. But I must admit it looks pretty awesome in pink to.
-
I put one on my truck probably about 5 years ago and its barely starting to show its age. Its starting to crack and peel on the edges but I think it gives it a little character.
-
Wow they must of scrubbed it pretty dang hard they usually hold up really well.
-
Thanks. My fiancee already said if you come out with a pink camo sticker I gotta replace a solid pink one.
-
Very nice. Congratulations
