A3 or Svepe Chapelle would be my first 2 calls. High Point Outfitters kills some big bulls each year too. call them all up and talk to them. Then pick the one that fits your needs and you are most comfortable with.

Get a mile off the road anywhere in the unit and you will into elk. Fun hunt. If your having trouble finding elk closer to the hunt date, send me a PM.

I plan to kill a big bull in CO this year.

If it snows a bunch, you dont need to wait more than a year. I switched over to a 0-1 point unit and plan to hunt to every year at the very least. I expect to kill that class of buck at least every other time in the unit. Pick a unit and learn it. You will kill 170 bucks in CO.

I drew in both NM and AZ last year. And it was the best problem of my life! Had 2 great elk hunts.

NM is not OTC, but you get 3 choices when you apply.... As long as you are smart about how you put in, you should draw. Better hunting than OTC in CO, ID, etc... IMO

Most places don't give you "true" odds for AZ.... they just take the total number of apps for 1st and 2nd choices and divide by permits given. This is without regard to how many points you have. It does give you an idea of the harder to draw units though.
