If you do end up getting the job and moving to Flag you picked a good spot to live for hunting. The wind, snow and cold were the only negatives that i had when living there. If those three things don't bother you than you can't beat Flag.

You guys tore it up, congratulations on your success.

My dad grew up in the Willcox area so they were pretty much in a great area to hunt with easy access. They had motorcycles and were always out in the desert hunting something. His dad didn't hunt but one time they needed a ride to a mountain range to hunt deer. He drove them in his car as close as he could to the mountain range without getting stuck. Once there my dad and his brother walked the few miles up to the mountains. He ended up getting a mule deer and they both dragged it back to the car. I grew up going out in the woods with my dad just looking at deer and elk. My first big game experience was when I was in first grade when my brother and I carried bb guns following my dad while javelina hunting unit 19b. We jumped a herd and he got one and I have been hooked ever since. My brother and I continued to follow my dad on unit 19b javelina hunts every year up until 6th grade when we could actually hunt it legally with a gun in hand. We hunted that unit every year that we could get in there without getting stuck from when I was age 7 up until about a few years into college. Many javelina were harvested over those years and every hunt is engraved in my head as a memory. I'm in my 30s and haven't missed a year of putting in for everything since I could put in. I think that I got the hunting gene.

I once found a 380 elk shed in 19b while I was javelina hunting. It still scored 380 while missing 10 inches that had broken off. Other than that I've been in 19b a lot and I have never seen an elk. Those units are tough for elk unless you know right where they're at.

6b has lots of little bulls and it's easier to draw than most. 4a and 4b are also good choices. 4b has some big bulls mixed in if you know what I mean. A guaranteed draw with only two points is tough to find I think.

IA Born, I sent you a pm. -
The climate has always been changing. Like if we had the dust bowl in the mid west like we did in the 1930's liberals would say that the world is ending.

I think that Arizona is the best state out there to be a hunter in. Just about everything about it you can't beat. Even the tags that we use to tag the game that we harvest are better than the rest of the states. I could go on and on....

A friend of mine has been in 17B the last two days and he has seen lots of big bucks already rutting.
-
Just like others have said, I do believe that you can't sell hunting locations without a guides license. I hope that this app doesn't work out and the game and fish does something about it.
-
I think that it is really good that your son is already thinking of a job for the future. It will make life easier when he gets older if he's doing what he likes to do.
-
Obviously the arizona game and fish knows more about management than these anti idiots. It seems like we have to deal with idiots everywhere these days. Everyone that comes on this post make sure to get your petition sent in to the governor for what it's worth and it's easy to do.
-
Rag horn, I got the same email as you did sent back to me. I heard that the antis put an article in the republic paper. Is there any hunters on here that are good writers that would want to put an article in the paper?

I had a mule deer hot spot during archery deer in august for seven years straight. On that seventh year we were on an elk hunt in my deer hot spot and had a lion sitting 10 yards away just sitting there staring at us. Another guy that we know was in the same area and saw a lion with two cubs cross the road in front of him. While antler hunting that area that same spring I did walk into some bones with fur kind of scattered in a small section. Ever since seeing those lions that winter the deer were gone the next summer and have been for the last 11 years.

You can't do any better than that! Congrats and great write up.

Wow that's a pretty buck, congratulations.

With the Kaibab and 12B late deer hunts starting this Friday I was just seeing if the tag holders were already at camp or leaving tomorrow. I just want to say good luck to you guys on your hunts, and if you could try and post pics when you get back. I will just post a few pictures to look at. Some of them I've posted before on here. Here's what the Kaibab looked like on the late hunt in 2004. Completely different from this year as far as snow goes. Here's a couple pictures of the deer board i dug up from the Kaibab early hunts in 1999. Here is a picture of the biggest buck that I've seen in person come off of the 12a east and west hunts back in 2007. You guys probably remember this buck from the late hunt. Here is a picture of a nice 12B late buck that I saw in person in 2014. Here is a couple of 2009 Kaibab late bucks Here is a 2007 late 12A West buck that some of you will remember. Here's a 2004 12A West late buck Here's another 12B late buck from back in 2014. Alright thats most of the pictures that I had. Good luck on your hunts out there.
