Archery Deer hunts north of the rim in Dec/Jan?
brian390 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I'm in favor of this only if they cut some of the rifle tags in the units that this is proposed for so that the quality stays up. Like if theres 1000 rifle tags for a given unit, cut like 100 of them (10 percent) and have like 25 to 50 archery hunters in place of them. With the lower success of the archery hunts this should keep the quality about the same or a little higher in my opinion. You would think that the deer would be in the lower country of these units at this time of year. I'm not sure how bad the roads would be in the lower country of these units like 4a, 3a/3c because I've never been in those units during december and January. Units 9 and 10 have archery hunts at this time of year and the roads seem to do pretty well. -

You can also email your comments to Molly Brown: Molly.Brown@mail.House.gov She is looking for comments from sportsman and their opinions about the national monument. Representative Kirkpatrick commented to someone from another forum that she has received 1300 comments so far and 92 percent have been in favor of the monument. Interesting being that we as sportsman just learned about it. So flood her inbox if you can. -

In Flag, I would say that so far since friday the city has gotten around 15 to 18 inches of snow total. (pretty much what seldom drawn said)There has also been a lot of rain mixed in so it's looking good. As of midnight last night (sunday night) Flag was +2.16 inches of precipitation above average since september 1st. This isn't including the 7 to 8 inches of snow and some rain that Flag has gotten since midnight last night. Update: As of 6pm tonight Flag has gotten 6.9 inches of snow today. Also Flag is now 3.67 inches of precipitation above average since september 1st.

Arizona's defense should of started in zone or went to it sooner. Just my opinion.
-
My guess would be on average for a resident that you will get the archery tag every 1 to 3 years and the early rifle tag every 4 to 7 years. I'm just guessing but this should be close to how long it takes. If you're lucky, then you could draw it more often than what I mentioned, and less often if you're unlucky. Good luck.

Arizona needs to learn to run around the end like Oregon does, and change it up on offense. Arizona's offense is too predictable.
-
Arizona offense=run up the middle.

Nice buck! Congrats!

I just wanted to wish all of the late 12a and 12b hunters good luck on their hunt in a couple of days. I will be up in 12b helping two of my friends with their late tags. I've never been in 12b on the late hunt, so it will be all new to me. I'll let everyone know how their hunt went after I get back.

257STW congrats on a great buck. I just got back from being with a couple of friends that had tags in 12b. One of them shot a 171 buck this morning and the other one is still up there hunting. They passed on a lot of bucks, and have seen a pretty good amount of deer. I also got to see someone with a 184 inch buck that they got out of 12b.

This is good information to know. I will keep these companies in the back of my mind and not support them.

I got hit for either turkey or javelina, but I'm thinking it's most likely javelina instead of turkey unfortunately.
