Isn't it ironic that so many parents have to stay home with their own kids now that they think teaching is incredibly difficult. These parents are probably the ones who have raised their little snowflakes up thinking they are special little angels and these kids are disrespectful little terds in school. I wonder how many parents that are sitting at home having difficulties with their kids are actually thinking about their parenting decisions and the fact that teachers are having a tough time because the parents have failed to instill discipline and respect into their kids. Many parents are going to get a dose of their own lack parenting while staying home with their own brats. I think many teachers would enjoy their jobs more if the kids actually respected them and had the discipline to do the right thing in class.

Sadly if the parents don't care, they don't care. I doubt this long summer break changes anything.

So i’m Trying to figure out what the new order means.  Mainly....can I go camping?  To the lake?  Turkey hunting and camping for a week? It’s pretty vague when outdoor recreation is listed as an essential activity.   To my way of thinking camping fishing hunting are extreme social distancing .  I just don’t want to be all packed up to go camping and then get pulled over and told to go home.

Lots of the recreation areas are closed, but you can still fish the lakes.

Wow mind me askin what foxpro you use those numbers are insane

At the time I didn't have a kid and I worked 4-10's. I pretty much spent every fri and sometimes the whole weekend out calling. I could drive my quad right from the house and go call. Back then I had an fx3 now I have a firestorm. The numbers aren't insane, the amount of time I put into calling was.

I dont use electronic calls...only hand calls..I did an experiment and kept a logbook for 1 year and found that I outcalled electronics 7-1.........But thanks..your set up should be awesome!!

Thats interesting. I only use a shotgun and my kill ratio tripled when I got a foxpro. Maybe I just suck at calling. I kept a log book for 5 years and recorded every stand. Do you weigh your kills? My biggest coyotes were 48lbs and 47lbs I killed them on back to back stands down by Sunazona. My average was about 25lb. Now that I live up north I don't call near as much. I use to average about 25 foxes and 40 or more coyotes a year. Now I am luck to kill a couple.

Right on thank you for the info but I think we are leaning more towards a pump action or possibly semi-auto. I will look into the ammunition though. Thank you again

I have river trips planned for both the Upper Salt (60 to 288) and the Verde (Beasley to Horseshoe) in the next few weeks. It's nice to see all this water!

Have you done the verde before? We cancelled our trip last year due to all the water. This year we are doing the headwaters to Camp Verde in late April.

I’m curious...this is a 2018 topic but did either of you have success at calling one in?

I think lions are fairly easy to call in. There is a huge learning curve at the beginning but after a couple of lions it gets very cookie cutter.

I would never mouth call. They come in fast and there is always the chance of calling in a bear which I’m not fond of.

Personally I think you have to understand travel routes, bedding and sunning areas to be okay at glassing them up. Most people I know that have found them using glass were looking for deer, elk, etc. Not saying impossible but not easy.

If it's that simple, how many have you called and killed? Any pics?

  8. We live west of Flagstaff about 20 miles. Our coop is an old gutted aluminum trailer with a 20x30 run attached. I covered the top of the run to keep the critters out.  Temps get down to as low as -9 and we have never heated the coop. We have 15 hens of several different breeds and one rooster. We do run a heated water bucket, but that is all we do. In 4 years we have never lost a chicken. They do slow down with laying during the shorter days of winter, but even right now with temps in the teens at night, we are getting 8-10 eggs a day. We started with a cheap coop from Tractor Supply and 6 hens but realized right away it was too small. Good luck finding a coop!

Several yrs ago I played with barrel lengths and what effect a shorter barrel had on velocity’s. Long story short. I started with a 26” barrel on a 7 stw and cut one inch off at a time. From 27 inches down to 23 inches I lost 60 FPS....Then a funny thing happened....From 22 inches all the way down to 18 inches Velocities returned back to what I was getting with a 26 inch barrel. No powder or bullet changes and all testing was done under the same conditions. I have confirmed this several times over the yrs with different calibers....

    thats interesting......
