The smoke shouldn't be an issue by then. We are on the west side and don't even see it here.

The Cashbox in Tucson use to be great. I haven't been in a few years, but I use to always find a good deal. Several years back I bought a S&W 15-3 out the door for $100

This drives me nuts. Hope you find what you need.

If it was me, I would spend money on a good tripod and head. I really don't see much of a difference in binos in the $150-$500 range. I would look through as many as you can and pick the ones you like the best. Then start saving for high end optics if that is what you want. I killed a plenty of deer with a pair of $100 nikon binos on a good tripod. I wasted hundreds of dollars "upgrading" with mid grade optics. I wish I would have been patient and just saved until I got what I really wanted.

Stuffed mine in a flat rate box. Then I got rid of it. Just like vortex, great warranty, too many issues.

Another vote for Ventana Canyon. My wife loves that place. Get a balcony with a view of the mountains and it is almost tolerable.

We had a good day considering we are not real duck hunters. We got 9 ducks and 2 geese. Took a lot of walking and a lot of paddling the canoe, but it was fun how did everyone else do?

We saw one in unit 8 this summer. We have a trail cam out there now so hopefully we will get some pics of them.

Yup. That is why I think it will be a tough hunt. It's a great time to be out in the woods though. I am pretty sure we can find a few bucks, just not sure we will be able to get at them. The lack of rain could really help.

Sorry I don't know about brands, but we went tankless in our last house and were very happy with it. We bought a Bosch on amazon for about $500. Super easy install and worked very well for the 18mo before we moved.

Congrats! I had this hunt in 2012 and lived in cordes at the time. I looked over lots of bucks and ended up with about a 70in buck on day 3. Back then they had 25 tags. I saw several bucks killed that were not even above the ears. I am glad to see they cut the tags back.
