I have never had an issue on Kiabab NF but I have seen the CCSO clearing out squatters a few times. Its always the huge camps they are clearing out. It is getting pretty bad. There is a guy in an RV not far from my house and he has only moved once in over a year. One camp north of I40 even brought in a plastic shed last summer.

Careful when ordering ammunition that is delivered by UPS
thegunsmith2506 replied to northAZarcher's topic in The Campfire
I have seen a few stories about UPS and FedX drivers dumping packages. People do stupid things. -
I think the point they were making was you shouldn't attach to the hitch at all. I have always used the pin. I'll try and find the website.

I know an EMT that was on this call. He sent me some info on recovery of stuck vehicles. Using the pin was one thing they said NOT to use.

The dry is the only one we use.

My buddy used that stuff on a Caribou hunt last year. I have been hooked on it ever since. We couldn't find it here in town so we order it on Amazon.

I am not complaining. They are replacing a few other things free of charge and said if they break anything while taking them apart they will cover that too.

They said the left housing was bent. I have owned them for 8 years and to my knowledge they haven't been dropped or abused. It probably happened before I bought them. The reason I sent them in was because the focus knob stopped working. The focus they are fixing for free but they said the housing was abuse so they are charging for that. Can't argue with that. When I bought them the tripod adapter I got with them was bent a little bit so I assume at some point they were dropped.

I shipped out a pair of leupold binos 2 weeks ago. They said to expect a new pair in 2-3 weeks because the repair shop was under construction. I sent my Swarovskis in the same day. A week later they tell me its going to cost $200 to fix them and it will be 4 weeks.

I have shot a few deer with a .243AI. I had bad luck with the 85gr spitzers. The 85gr Game Kings worked great. My buddy in Texas shot 2 deer with the V-max and the bullets blew up on the shoulder. Good luck on your hunt! -
Try telling the cyclists around Tucson that you are legally hunting and they are required to have a permit to be there.

Where's the best hand tossed pizza in Arizona?
thegunsmith2506 replied to Chef's topic in The Campfire
I've tried about every place in flag. Nimarcos is still my favorite. Grand canyon brewery in Williams has pretty good pizza. -
They wouldn't match online prices at the flagstaff store.

I use to be a loyal customer at discount tire but I think they have really gone downhill. I just bought tires for my truck from Amazon. Had them shipped to pep boys and installed there. I saved $380 from what discount quoted me. Before the 4th we were going on vacation so I took the car in for a rotate and balance. They used the little scanner machine and told me I needed new tires. I asked for an actual tread depth gage and the tires were fine. The scanner was 3/32 off. I would look at other options.

My first experience hunting 21 was interesting. I hiked into a canyon with a glassing knob in the middle of it before daylight. I glassed for about an hour and then turned around to glass back towards the road. I was shocked to see a line of 7 guys spread out glassing the canyon from the road. I caught movement just below the group and noticed a little buck walking down the canyon. With only 2 days to hunt and my wife coming up that evening with her own tag I decided to try and kill this buck. I moved to the bottom of the canyon and killed the buck as he crossed in front of me. About 30 seconds later I heard a shot from up on the road. I loaded up my buck and got back to camp about an hour later. As I was putting my buck in the ice chest a ranger drove by with a huge buck in the back followed by a line of trucks. Talking to one of the guys he said they had been watching that buck for the last few weeks but never saw him that day until I shot and he stood up. I guess I should have kept looking they killed him 250yds from where I was glassing from that morning. Its a fun unit with plenty of bucks.
