Have you seen the pictures that Elkhunter1 has posted up of his kills with the shwacker broad head? The entrance holes are huge! When I first saw some of the pictures that he was posting up I was convinced they were the exit holes. Additionally, when I was shooting my targets recently I had my wing blades taped close so I could tune then with my field tips (They tuned up perfectly too). The entrance holes of the protruding wings still made an entrance hole close to the size of my Muzzy 3 Blades (this is without any expansion). I am not worried one bit about the entrance holes on these broad heads. Hopefully, I will have some pics to post up in a couple of weeks of how they actually preformed.

Looks like a bear bow. Bump for a great practice bow. I'd ask for it but my scouts have a few bows already.

I'll give you an AMEN to that...sounds like the gospel truth!

Same here!!!!

Great pics! That buck in the last one looks like he has a perfect rack. Good luck!

Seriously those bulls are awesome....I am tempted to put to on my ignore list now. I had finally come to terms with not having an elk tag this year until seeing all your families success.

New Knife - Outdoor Edge Razor Blaze
ready2hunt replied to twigsnapper's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I was looking at that knife but like you I already have a havalon and if it ain't broke....don't fix it. I really love my outdoor edge swing blade too....I have become pretty quick with it and only sharpen it in the off season. Oh and by the way I am not worried about losing my camo wallet. My wife can find my wallet no matter where i hide it haha. (Jk I don't own a camo wallet but I am sure this would be the case) -
Holy wide! Hopefully that wasn't your wife's first....it'll be tough to top that one

Your buddy probably already knows this but Bass pro shops and sportmans warehouse has ready to hunt bows for $450-$550. They are not the "sexy brands" like Matthews, Hoyt PSE (they do have those as well for $600-$1000) however they are great bows that fit your specific draw length and for an additional $60-$130 you'll have a dozen cut/fletched arrows with broad heads and field points, release and target all brand new. These stores will also help you sight in your bow up to 20yards. If that works into your price range I would encourage your bud to spend a couple of hours at these shops (and others around the valley and who sponsor this site) shooting and figuring out which bow you like and get it at least partially field ready. It will be money well spent.

I have a pop up blind for sale. It's Real Tree and was originally $100. This blind is yours for $60. No tears, scratches and it has all the shoot through mesh intact. It's never been hunted out of. Comes with backpack carrying case and fits 2 people. Weights just over 5lbs and its a great blind for you or as a gift. Let me know if you want it....with archery season just a few weeks away don't spend hundreds on a blind when this one is calling your name haha! Thanks for looking! Sorry for some of the sideways pics. Phone is still giving me issues.

22N Mazatzal Wilderness Area Questions
ready2hunt replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Elk Hunting
Picture a rough elk hunt and then double that. haha. I love that area but it can be some of the roughest area to hunt in if you don't know where you are going or you are out of shape. You can find elk and even big bulls but just as you can imagine they are not as abundant as other places. With the type of terrain you are in its best to know all your water sources especially come Nov. and sit and glass glass glass. While I have never hunted elk in the matazal and I have been with others and the best success I have seen as been over water (along with everyone one else in the unit) or watching them to find out where they bed and then putting a stalk on em. It can be very worth it just a lot less "luck" as others experience in other units. -
Weapon of choice for Bear Season opener?
ready2hunt replied to Rifle2Bow's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Same here with the bow. I am hoping my shwackers connect the vitals of a bear or deer....I don't discriminate -
30-06 any brand. The versatility of the bullet grains is great. Ammo is not hard to find you and with a good scope you can reach out and touch accurately pretty far. Not a whole lot of recoil and you can use it for a javelina or elk. Everyone has their preference. I prefer the Remington but any brand will do. Even a mossberg is good. Its the shooter....not the gun. Good luck to you.
