    6a input?

Why more people don't put in for the early hunts is beyond me, especially in a unit like that. -it's nice weather -animals have been pushed hard due to all the elk hunters but not as bad yet in the southern part -the animals still have their summer patterns -it's nice weather -a few elk are still sounding off -it's nice weather -great area to do some fishing as well I would love a dec hunt but it's hard to justify waiting that long when I can hunt the same animals 2x as much. The last coues I shot was following a doe and ended up fighting another buck. Shot it while it was locking antlers. That was on The last week of october 2 years ago- my father was a witness. Crazy things can happen.

    My first . . .

Awesome! Still have yet to get one myself. Although shooting a bag at 60 yards is totally unethical- how long did it take the bag to die?!

    Camp fire blanket

Piece of pitch with some sap hanging out, piece of toilet paper and some coals left over from the night before is how we've always done it. No offense to your buddy but just seems way to expensive for it's purpose.

    Boy Scouts of America

As it has been explained to me it's hard for the church to justify reducing budgets and allocating money while still paying a fortune in the fee's for certifiying and chartering etc. For that money, plus the cost of basics like apparel there is nothing the boys get in return. Now with all the liberal changes it's time for the church to move on and create a more church oriented program. I agree with everyone else- I am happy for the change. We pay all this money, it's not like BSA provides anything in return, the leaders provide all the time and equipment and the BSA Council reps are making 100k plus a year. It's a joke now.

    Why not hunters......What is wrong????

Sooooo why not let hunters take them? All the hunters need to do is not listen to the "free" advice from the guides other people are paying for and there would be a greater harvest. Seriously though- I for one would still PAY to voluntarily take one.

    Scouting in 3b

I do not claim to be an expert on elk. My favorite pastime outside of fishing is looking and tracking animals on game cameras, with all that said....my opinion is the bull in the 3rd pic down is going to be a beast! This early on with a crown that thick, straight and curling only on the end....hes going to be a shooter in my opinion. (most bulls are shooters for me though) When I am looking at my cams the biggest boys are the ones that start out like that guy right there. Whoever has a tag better be hitting idgaf for info. Thanks for sharing some of your scouting pics with us....they are like gold to the rest of us "tag-less saps"

    OTC Elk

+1 to this post- just look at the background in these pictures! I wouldn't hunt javelina in that and these guys are dropping elk. I'll stick with the 400" bulls in 4B.....see what I did there???

    San Carlos success

thanks for sharing. I am not scared of snakes but there is just something about snakes in the pines- especially timber rattlers that I hate. I guess I feel that since I am not in the lower desert they shouldn't be there.

    Record Channel Cat

I've thought about throwing a line in there many times for pike, just to say I have caught one. Do you guys (who fish it) fish from a boat or shore fishing? would have access to either but obviously shore would be easiest.

    7E Late archery elk

If you are referring to the Nov. hunt then you should be focusing on water. You don't necessarily have to sit water but that time of year is traditionally dry. Make the waterholes your focus and work outwards from those points (once you have identified water holes they are hitting consistently). Personally I would sit an active waterhole.
