Seriously, why is everyone so preoccupied with this? Since when did everyone on THIS FORUM care so much that G&F gets paid (assuming that is the case)?? I think its a great idea. I'll be honest I wouldn't put 12pts in 5B but to each his own. By the way I went hunting with my father and helped him pack out his deer....He compensated me by buying me dinner. There was an actual transaction of goods AND services- the food was great and quantified by $8.00 SO I TURNED HIM IN FOR NOT HAVING A GUIDES LICENSE. THAT WILL TEACH HIM! You'd actually be the I've being the guides license... Id plead the 5th! see- i am in so deep at this point i don't even know what is right or wrong. I am just going to start turning everyone in cause the State of AZ NEEDS it's money- without me enforcing everyone else they'd go broke. Sorry to add to the de-railment of this thread azbullelkman- hope you find the hunting buddy you're looking for.

I had what I would have called a honey hole for deer and bear. Easily 3 different bears frequented the area as well as 4-5 bucks plus about 6 does at any given time. I shot 3 bucks within the same 50 yard radius in a 5 year period. It is an amazing spot. Just hidden from view unless you are right on top of it. LOTS of oak and grass as the slope of the mountain made for perfect drainage and it was right next to a steep drop off where no one but the deer are willing to run. I have had (2) cameras in the area for 6 years now. There was a set of new hunters 3 years ago I got on a cam and now there are about 5 more....someone even tried to build a water hole (near) this spot. This year there are no bucks and the bears were pushed out- too much activity. With the amount of people that hunt the area now I doubt it will ever be the same. I thought it would be so fun to take my girls in a blind out there and tag a deer....can't do that now

Maybe I'm crazy but the rut never seems to be in full swing until the first week in Oct. I bugled back and forth with one in late aug. but they never came in. However, every fall turkey hunt we can get them to come in within 20 yards and tear up tree's in full view of our presence. (of course I have NEVER been able to do that during an actual archery hunt- just my luck) Again that is just my experience. Good luck on the hunt though.

that is an awesome bull! Congrats on a job well done. A non-typical elk is on my to-do list, that one is just crazy though.

congrats on the buck. If you are still willing to post about it then please post up pics of it when its mounted. I would love to see this beast in all it's glory. Anyone else just feel inadequate when looking at it?? I am just trying to top my 51" buck. haha

+1 to the "Mr. Heater Buddy" It runs on too smaller (standard) propane tanks so its obviously does not last as long as a large 5 gallon but I use it in tents all the time. I still vent but very safe and automatically shuts off if tipped or if there is a lack of oxygen. Use it with my family in the tent any time we all go. Great purchase at $99 Good luck.

its a big father south than Mary but my kids and I never have an issue catching trout at Ashurst.

+1 to unethical animals- that has always been my issue Seriously though what is up with all this "holier than thou" attitude?? If I was told to NEVER take a shot unless I hit the target then I would be in the same spot I was as a child. I've spent 100's of hours on ranges with duty weapons- still not perfect. Get over it and no I never lost an animal- come close though.
