Dang i would have taken the meat!

I will regret asking this i am sure but are we as hunters supposed to look out for one another when it comes to ethics or just say to each his own and congratulate no matter what? Is a kill a kill no matter how it goes down or should we try to encourage bettter tactics? I am talking about a blatent ethics violation not something borderline that some may or may not agree with (i.e long range, bait, etc..) I dont want to condemn in a personal manner but also dont want to encourage unethical or even dangerous hunting. What would you say to someone that said they wounded 3 elk flinging arrows from 50-100 yds but had not practiced at all and picked up arrows at walmart the night before? I am not perfect and know that, just want to know what other peoples opinion is on this and how you would go about handling it. Would you say something to someone in the field if you saw them, would you mention it online? Is it any of our business or not? I feel since we are all in the field together it is all of our business.... Just want to know what others think...

LMAO. Classic!!!!

Bring an extra battery if you can. Also put a fleece blanket on your bed and sleep on top of that. Helps a lot to keep warm at night.

If the first shot hadnt missed by 3 feet I would say awesome for sure!

The officer is allowed to take the gun to protect his safety. When he takes it he has to check to see if it is stolen or not. There is a gray area when the person refuses to hand the gun over. Some would call that probable cause rightthere that the person is hiding something. Some might not. Each stop is different and has to be handled as such. If someone is speeding 5 miles an hour over that is most defintely a violation of the law and a ticket would he warranted. No normal officer writes a ticket hoping they just pay it and dont show up. Every detail of the traffic stop is noted in case of a court date. I wont get into scumbag lawyers perverting the law to make money. Worthless...

Guess i never had anyone object to it. Not sure why you would? Just like running your plate when you are pulled over and running your license to make sure you dont have a warrant. It is part of knowing who you are dealing with. How does the law enforcement officer know what kind of person you are? Running the weapon is not a violation of your rights. During the stop if you have a weapon (handgun not hunting rifle that is cased) the officer should take possession of that weapon to ensure his safety. Since he or she has possession it is common sense to run the sn to make sure it is not a stolen weapon. There is no reason to be paranoid or think you are now "inthe system" or something like that, unless you have a stolen weapon or bought it from someone shady.
-
It is only checked to make sure it is not stolen and yes perfectly legal. There is a national database of any reported stolen weapon. I was AZ Highway Patrol and running a weapons check is standard on any weapon discovered on a traffic stop.

You got this backwards... I am the one left with the bad taste in my mouth from Game and Fish Man people will do anything for tags these days!!!!! LOL! Dang you figured out my secret...

Maybe you should go work for them and solve all their problems. Seriously though Game and Fish gets a bad rap in every state. Thing is they have to think about the big picture, not just making hunters happy. They need to ensure the species stays healthy now and for the future, they need money to operate, they have pressure from all sides saying they arent doing good enough. How can an agency please everyone? They cant so they try to balance it the best they can. It might not be perfect to everyone, but it couldnt possibly be perfect. People on this site need to stop bashing game and fish. Game and Fish is developing a bad taste in their mouth for Coueswhitetail members because of it.

Hypothetical Bear Questions????
AverageJoe replied to azcouesfanatic's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Houndsmen are just like any other group of hunters IMO. There are good ethical ones and bad ones. Plenty of deer and elk hunters are stupid enough to risk jail time over a deer or elk. -
My grandma passed away 3 years ago During my elk hunt. I went back up to hunt after spending time with her in her last day alive. I swear she was up there with me and helped me take my first ever archery animal. I will never forget that. I know your gramps will be watxhing over you the same way my grandma watched over me

Just looked at the electoral vote map again and it pisses me off that 3 states are basically controlling a majority of the election and those same three states would never even think about voting for the best candidate, only for the democrat. It takes the rest of us normal thinking states to try to counterbalance the 3 states. That is messed up!! Anybody know why ohio and pennsylvania are always undecided on who they vote for? Seems we need those two plus florida to win. By the way Biden is a fool. He says Iran cant make a weapon to put a nuke on so we shouldnt worry? Is he crazy??? It would take no time at all for them to weaponize a nuke.

What kind of bear is this? Nutrioso, AZ
AverageJoe replied to Norteno's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Really doesnt look too big to me. Compare it to the rocks and foliage around it and it is just a normal to big sized black bear. Compare it to the kid and man sitting 3 feet behind it and it looks huge. -
Hypothetical Bear Questions????
AverageJoe replied to azcouesfanatic's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I wouldnt shoot. In my opinion that is the other guys bear. He is chasing it legally. I wouldnt shoot an elk or deer if i saw someone stalking it either. There are plenty of bears outthere. -
I would be interested in the bench and dies/.25 bullets, .284 stuff also.

While i agree with you on most things coues n sheep, i disagree a little on your above post. What i see is the cause if us hunters losing our rights is the abuse of our current rights. People blazing new roads or driving off road to fit their needs caused the forest service to put more restrictions on us. Granted it is not all or only hunters that do that. People shooting and leaving their trash and brass all over the desert around phoenix caused people to lose the ability to target shoot. (i think we all can agree that 'they' are not going to just enforce the current laws, it is easier for them to make new laws that forbid it.) I walked one ridge this august and saw over 10 piles of corn and salt, there were 4 or 5 ridges all running adjacent to one another and i didnt walk them all. That is where i came up with the magical '50' number that so many on here called me names for. Guess none of you have ever made an exxaggerated claim before. Over use of bait will cause us to lose our baiting priveledge. And is causing us to lose it. There is a term called 'policing your own' that needs to apply here. I agree i dont like add'l regs and laws but when a group fails to police their own someone outside of that group needs to step in and do it for them. There are a lot of good people and hunters out ther but unfortunately there are a lot of bad hunters out there that ruin it for the rest of us. For the record i do not have anything against people that use bait, just would like to see it used less on public land. I have tried using bait before but decided that form of hunting wasnt for me. I would like to encourage hunters to learn to pattern deer in their natural environment and sit an area you know they will be crossing where their natural food source is than to throw out an unnatural food source in hopes of luring them in. Didnt mean to ruffle so many feathers with my original post, just voiced my opinion with perhaps a bit of frustration over this last season.

I did and it was pretty good. Even the kids liked it.

Too many thoughts to type. I will not change my view of baiting but i do support hunting as a whole. I would not expect aNyone else to change their way of thinking either. Dont give me some long reply about how narrow minded i am and think it did any good. Glad you got your opinion out though, that is what internet forums are for. Just realize not everyone thinks the same and is entitled to their own opinion. Happy Hunting

corn http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/35683-azgfd-rule-changes/#entry335541 Good one. Guess i am eating crow
-
what's stopping anyone from doing that with the current rules? 50 piles of corn per square mile of public land and a blind or treestand at every pile! where the heck do you see this? I sure as heck don't see any corn piles in the units I hunt. Take a walk around unit 23 in august.

Lol! I dont like it so it shouldnt be allowed! Nice attitude! as was already stated. If you dont like it, dont read it!
