    Bow advice

I have shot all major brand bows and they are all nice. Just a personal preference as to which you will like. I would worry about ibo speed a little as there is no reason nowadays to get anything with an ibo under 330. You can get a smooth as silk 7" brace height bow with a solid back wall and zero vibration that still has an ibo of 340. The faster the better as long as you dont sacrifice smoothness or accuracy. Some speed bows are a bear to draw. I think elite is about the best overall bow there is anymore. if you want extremely smooth and quiet but maybe not as fast go with mathews. Mathews does have the MR series which are faster and amazing as well. Hoyt is great all around but you will either love it or hate it. My opinion is the latter of the two. The new PSE DNA would be top of the list too. Bowtech again is a good bow but They have had some limb peeling issues as of late. I also would recommend looking at archerytalk for a used bow. I have bought 10 or so bows off there and you can get a great deal and have more money for better accesories. If you shoot one and like it, go look on archery talk and see if one is available. Make sure you buy from someone with good feedback if you do. If you want to shoot a strother i have a couple you can try out. Strother makes very fast bows that are smooth and have the best back wall available. Just have a less of a following and customer service can be a pain.

Gun Confiscation - How it will happen

Man you guys give too much credit to "the other side" and must have a very low view of yourselves and other conservatives. If us gun owners are so weak and easily controlled, maybe we should give up our guns??? Point is, we will never be disarmed and quit living in fear of government and some liberal agendas. Fight back for heavens sake and control your own future. Assault rifle ban is not the end of the world as we know it.
  5. True brotherhood is the marine corps, not the union. Fight along someone for your life and freedom, not for another dollar.
  6. I have been a union member (never again) and a member of a huge union. I am very informed and i know from experience that unions are bad for society. Some may like them, some hate them, but in the long run unions put companies out of business and promote laziness. Companies need to be able to fire and hire as wanted in order to survive. Companies need to be able to pay according to performance to survive, companies need to be able to pay the same low wage entry level job accordingly for years and years. If you want a promotion or raise, work hard and earn it. At the end of the day, who signs your paycheck? The company or the union?
  7. And now unions are destroying this country. Unions promote laziness among workers. They pay a lazy worker the same as a hard worker and do not recognize the hard worker in any way. If anything the unions get mad at the hard worker for making the lazy worker look bad. I speak from experience and that is the reason i am no longer in the union and never will be again!

    My First Bull

I am very thankful to have been involved with your first bull elk hunt. Every bit of your bull was earned and you are the one who made the great shot and spotted the bull. I knew you could make that shot. All those hours at the range paid off. 600 yds, one shot, and the bull dropped in his tracks like a ton of bricks. Normally they will swagger or run off a bit but yours dropped and thank God he did or we might have had to pull him out of that canyon. Yuck!!! Again great job and you worked as hard as anyone at getting your bull! Very proud of you and I look forward to many years to come of exciting hunts...

Have you seen all the trophy bulls taken over the last few years in az? Do you think if the trophy bulls keep being taken that big bulls will continue to exist? A lot of the hunters in az, the majority of the hunters, would rather have the opportunity to hunt rather than a quality hunt. That majority does not visit or have even heard of coueswhitetail.com. They just want to go out, have a good time with friends and family, and have the chance to shoot any bull or cow. They could care less about size. For them which i do believe are the majority of elk hunters, game and fish are doing a great job. The ones who want to get away and truly hunt a trophy might be getting the bad end of the deal but then again game and fish cant please everyone. They might as well please the majority. For those that keep bashing game and fish because you feel they have not done a good job but what would you have them do? Cut tags in half to please the trophy hunters while the ones who do it for meat and to teach others how to hunt and bring new people to the hunting community get the shaft? Is it not more important in the long run to ensure people continue to hunt and have the opportunity to hunt? If you stop seeing elk and the numbers drop drastically i would agree they are doing a bad job. So far that is not the case in az. The trophy quality may go down but that can rebound from year to year and who knows how they will manage what in the years to come. Think about the overall hunting community instead of your own desires (although everyone is entitled to their own feelings). I shot a late archery raghorn this year and am more proud of that bull than my big ones. That was a true trophy in mine and others eyes. Its not all about size. Hope i didnt offend anyone, just trying to help folks see a different perspective.

Suggestions on which long range gun to buy

Your speeds for the .308 with 208 amax are a bit low. Most guys now are running the 208 at 2550-2650 and even up to 2700 depending on barrel length. Plug 2600 (an average speed) into your calculator and you will get a true comparison. 2600-2700 is very possible in the 308 with R17. I prefer the 200 gn sierra gameking to the amax. I run it at 2640. That combination is simply amazing from a .308.

    Points and Eyeguards

Dont count the eyeguards as points but count them on score. Simple as that. A 3 point has three points on one side other than the eyeguard. A 3x3 with eyeguards is not a 4x4 as a couple people have mentioned on here lately.

    az prop 120

Each state should be able to do what they want with the land within their borders. It would be nice to have the choice of 50 different states to live in rather than one giant state that we have now called the u.s. i vote yes for anything that helps give the states power over their own land. The state is run by our neighbors and people that will listen to us more than the feds ever will. Why let the power of deciding our lands future be held in the hands of those that are in washington dc and pushing a liberal agenda????

    Killing small bucks

Nice thing about having 50 states....if you dont like the way things are going in the state you are in, find a state that matches your beliefs and move. Thank God states still have some rights to manage their own state as they see fit.
