    Vintage Remington 721

Do you need to rebarrel? I would think polishing up your grandpas rifle and taking a deer or elk with it 'as-is' would be a great tribute. I have heen thinking of doing the same with my grandpas 721 in 30-06. It is 60 years old and still shoots sub-moa with factory loads and a 4x weaver. Lol. Goes to show you dont "need" all the fancy fixins to shoot great woth a great rifle.

Help me score some bulls! Added another picture

The only one that will make 300+ is the first bull which might also be the same as the last and i would say 320 -330. The other bulls are nice, maybe 280

    Becoming a leftover hunter

35b each year we run into illegals, border patrol bombing through our camp to catch drug runners through the night (which is a little awkward), glass bails of weed, o and the everpresent border patrol blimp overhead watching every move...lol. If you dont mind all that the hunting can be fun but definitely challenging.

    Really need some input

The vortex viper line is every bit as good as the leupold vx3 line. I would choose the viper hs 4-16x44 and know that i have as good a scope as the vx3. Now the vortex 4-12 sounds like the diamondback in which case i would choose the leupold vx3 over the diamondback.

    260 Remington

.308nut is not talking about just hunting rifles. He has put more rounds downrange than most could ever dream of. When he speaks, one should listen, it is not based on opinion, it is based on experience. You trying to argue with him is quite comical to say the least.

    Kids Bow

The bear will be a bit tough for them to pull back at 4 and 5. Not impossible, just very tough. My son had one st that age. I would go with the kids longbow or recurve first so they can pull it back easier and at least get to shoot.

    Angle Compensating Range Finders

I didnt like my vortex because the ranges were inconsistant, very slow to report the reading, the shape made it hard to tell if it was forward or backward when reaching for it blindly as you are watching a deer. At times i would bring it up and be looking through the wrong end. I fixed that problem but it still bugged me. Also the furthest i could get it to read was. 600 yds and that was a big rock not even an animal.
