Need help finding a LR rifle

Light is bad yes. Only advantage a light rifle has is the hike in. After that a heavy rifle wins in every category. Man up and carry the extra pound or two for a heavier barrel and stock lol

    Gluten

Sorry you lost me...not sure what you are getting at.

    Gluten

IMO it is not gluten people are allergic to but the new strings on wheat that are mutated and manmade. Every piece of wheat or gluten product we eat is no longer the natural form but a manmade variety. The wheat you eat nowadays barely resembles wheat from the 50's. It is sad really and you cant even buy seeds from a real plant anymore and grow your own as it is all the mutated variety

Looking for advice on Vortex LR scopes

If you are going to be dialing turrets and not using the reticle save the money and buy the regular SFP model. FFP isnt going to help you any and will only add cost to the scope.

Need help finding a LR rifle

I have only read about the weatherby long range rigs but they cost around the 2-4 grand mark and are not any more accurate than a normal rifle. There are probably a few guys who can chime in on the Sako rifles but not me. Plenty of custom rifle makers to choose from like montana rilfes, cross canyon arms, cooper firarms, etc...maybe he can choose from one of them?

Need help finding a LR rifle

I would just stick with Rem or Savage. Can always get a stainless fluted barrell ordered from a barrel maker and install it on a savage action for what a sendero would cost. If he is dead set on a 26" stainless fluted barrel that is what I would do. Buy a basic savage rifle for 500 bucks order a barrel and take it to the gunsmith for install. Be looking at around $1000 total. Then order a Bell and Carlson stock from Stockys for 250 and you are at the same price as a sendero. Or just buy a sendero lol. I have a sendero in 7mm mag that I like a lot. It is the older stainless fluted model not the new one. I also have a savage 10-fcpsr and it is a great rifle. between the two i think I still like the remington better.

There is a reason the Remington and Savage keep popping up. Is there a reason he doesnt want to go with the two most popular? They both make excellent long range rigs for the price.

    ML HELP NEEDED PLEASE

Did you go back to 100gn loads instead of 150 gn? Try that and see if the problem is the extra pellet as that could be the problem. I used to only shoot 100 gns because of the same issue. 100 gns was plenty to drop a cow elk at 200 yds. I have had sketchy accuracy with 150 gns and have heard the same from others.

Looking for advice on Vortex LR scopes

MRAD vs MOA...If you use a rangefinder and have grown up using moa scopes which most of us have, stick with MOA. MRAD is good IMO if you plan on ranging with your reticle (although you must be proficient to get real distances and even then it is not as accurate as a rangefinder). If you want a backup to your rangefinder again MRAD would be a good option but for some it is hard to make the switch from MOA to MRAD. I have the Viper HS 6-24x50 and I like it so far, not the best scope obviously but good enough for dialing shots out to 800 and back. Glass isnt as good as some Leupolds in the same price range but still plenty clear. Power adjustment ring is tough as nails to turn. Again if you use your rangefinder to find your distances (and not the scope reticle) then I would stick with an moa scope. Just easier to use since most of us know the moa scale much better than the mil scale. You go MRAD you will have to get used to a whole new system but for some it is worth it to have the capability to range with the scope. I would be willing to bet most people that have MRAD scopes still use a rangefinder but want the mil scope because that is the current tacti-cool thing to have.
