left side, yellowish clump of grass, in between the two trees.

I would say this guy passes the test. MY guess would be center of the pic lower third in the deadfall...but it is purely a guess. I see a possible gun barrel sticking out towards the left
-
My guess would be lower left under the grass and branches. Looks like a scope and barrel.

Your fast food analogy hit the nail on the head.

Just depends on what is the most important factor of the hunt. If a trophy animal is how you judge your hunt, hiring a guide is not a bad idea. If the hunt itself and the personal hard work put into it is the more important factor, go DIY.

Zeiss conquest hd 15's vs swarovski hd 15
AverageJoe replied to apache12's topic in Optics and tripods
Well after my trip to Wyoming I had a chance to compare the Zeiss 15x56 to the new Swaro 12x50. I will be the first to say I thought the 12's power would be a slight handicap but I was wrong. While the Zeiss are very good binos, and I was highly impressed, the swaros won in every category. The comparison was done at fading light at ranges from 500-2000 yds. These I think are the main areas of concern for hunters... Clarity - The swaros were perfectly clear and crisp from edge to edge with zero distortion. The Zeiss were very clear as well but slight distortion close to the edge. Even in the center of view at 1500 yds the swaros were able to pick up more detail Color - Swaros were more of a bluish color or true color while the Zeiss seemed to be a bit yellowish Magnification - While the 15's obviously had more power, the difference was barely notable at the ranges mentioned due to the clearness of the 12's Size and Weight - Swaro 12's are the winner...no surprise there. Overall both are great binos but the swaros were clearly better in every category. The only advantage of the zeiss over the swaro is the tripod adapter and stud it comes with which as I said before is simply awesome. Both binos would have no problem picking out coues at extended ranges. If price is concern the Zeiss at $1400-1600 are very capable and IMO as good as the old swaro 15's. If money isnt a concern and you have $2800 to spend the swarovski 12x50 are very much worth it. Final thought - I think I will be selling my Zeiss 15's to get the Swaro 12's in the near future. p.s. sorry I did not get a chance to review the swaro 15's...if anyone has any info on the new 15's maybe they can add to this thread -

Rememer recruiters do not give one shyt about the people they sign up. They are ony a number/quota to them. Tell your boy to do what he wants. If the recruiter is a bad one i would move on to another branch or location. Semper fi -
I had same problems with bergers. Try a different bullet and see what happens

Best trip of my life so far Kevin. I will remember this forever. Congrats on your first buck! . For a unit that is not known for decent bucks i think we did great! Passed up many to find the ones we did. Watching my buck fight the other bucks in the area and steal their does was awesome.

Barometric pressure changes same as elevation changes. The higher the elevation the lower the barometric pressure. This is a chart of true barometric pressure per altitude Altitude. Pressure 1000 28.9 1500 28.3 2000 27.8 2500 27.3 3000 26.8 3500 26.3 4000 25.8 4500 25.4 5000 24.9 6000 24.0 7000 23.1 8000 22.2 9000 21.4 10000. 20.6

Did you enter the correct elevation and pressure or did you use the default which is sea level?

Lots of us are going this year. Me and kevin leave friday as well as other from cw.com. Big browns leaves a couple weeks after that. Very easy to apply and actually go hunt to those that are worried.

This is funny. Unit 1 is not managed for a trophy unit. Its a product of the fire. 300 archery bull tags and a cow hunt going on the same time. Its a joke. Sure there are some giants but gnf shouldn't take credit for managing it that way. Maybe we should thank the USFS for torching the unit. Just give it a few more years. It'll be what 3a 3c now is. Because they managed it for trophy bulls about 10 yrs ago too. You have no clue what you are talking about.

Lol you mean you want a jeep?

Quail season is coming
AverageJoe replied to Coues assassin's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
One of my old favorite quail spots is off of beaver creek rd behind montezumas well. Great quail spots all the way up to apache maid even. -
Hunting alone is the only way to go...how else you expect to keep a spot secret?
