Ugh...you dont need to spend $4-500 for a pack from kifaru or outdoorsmans etc. they arent any better than a cheaper pack and sometimes worse. Go to sportsmans, try on all their packs but dont limit yourself to hunting pack sction as their backpacking section has some awesome bigger packs as well.

Keep the gun and just buy her a big can of pepper spray. The kreeps will stay away when they see it.

S35v or s90v for the steel. D2 is ok but you wont get as razor sharp as the other ones. There are a alot of custom knife makers out there. You can also get a factory made knife in those two steels. Btw those are the best steels out there right now and they are pricey.

I love mine. If you follow the directions you will get a razor sharp hunting knife in 5 minutes. Takes my friends 30 minutes on a lansky to get it the same as mine in 5
