    Big Ol' Buck

That's a great buck. I hunted near Arizpe in January and I for sure did not see that one within my rifle range. When we came back across the border we had some major hoops to jump through with US Fish and Wildlife. Our skulls had to be cleaned and the hides had to be frozen solid. Ours hides were a little soft and we had to sign a declaration that they had been frozen for 24 hours, otherwise they could confiscate. I guess my question would be, why does this skull have hide on it if it came from Mexico? Great Buck though! EBB

    nov 36b hunt results

Nice job Guys. I didn't see anything close to either of those in the 5 Days I hunted 36B. And my eyes and neck are still sore from glassing. On the score, I would have thought they'd gross 85 to 90 on both of them. They look better than the numbers you posted. EBB

    New record??

Congratulations on your New World Record. Watch out for ground shrinkage though. That can be heartbreaking. EBB

    November hunters in 36 units

I'll be down there in 36B. See if we can make it in. EBB
  6. Congratulations, That's a great looking buck and I really enjoyed your storytelling. I'm hoping to do better though starting on the 10th. Does anybody know where I can get a good sandbag that will work equally as well on the side mirror as it does on the door or hood? EBB

    LONG RANGE SHOTS

Couse shot at 40 yards, 125 yards, 180 yards, 200 yards, 325 yards. Antelope 525 paces flat ground(dead calm morning and I wasn't gonna get any closer). The 325 couse was 4 shots all behind the shoulder but with 130 grain ammo from a .270. Got home and pulled all the bullets and changed to 150 grain. Everything else was one round each. I'd prefer to be 150 yards and closer. EBB

    wish me luck!

I had a Guide License in Arizona for Fishing in the early 80's. I was Tournament Bass Fishing and everybody and their dog wanted me to take them out. After I got the License and people would ask to go with me I'd quote them a rate. Sure cut down on the "when you gonna take me fishing" questions. EBB

    Microsheds

I've been reading this board for a couple of years now and have never posted. This topic about smallest sheds and coues kills has my attention. My first coues was in the early 80's. A fine cool morning (Sunday). I was sleeping in because the previous days assault on Montana peak had done in my legs. About 9:30 I took a stroll with my rifle, small shovel, and a roll of anti-skid paper. Doing my business I watched 2 coyotes cross a ridge about 600 yards away. After finishing my business, I went to check them out. Putting the glass on them, they turned into 2 whitetail does. As they came closer I realized one of them, then both appeared to be spikes. I moved closer and found a rest, picked out the one with the biggest body (LOL), and sqeezed off a shot. He looked around and kept eating, so, I shot again. This time he took a couple of steps and ate some more. So, I took a 4th shot. This time he stumbled and went down. His buddy (the one with the small rack) just looked on. When I got to him I discovered that I hadn't been missing him at all. I could put my hand over all 4 holes in his chest. I tagged him and was disappointed to see that the tag was wider than the length of the spikes. Just as well though because there would have been nothing to keep the old metal band from sliding off. At home I took a hacksaw and removed the skull cap with antlers. It took maybe a week to dry out sufficiently for me to show it off. Friends would ask, "did you get your buck this year"? I would just smile and proudly ask, wanna see the rack? I'd then remove it from the hip pocket of my Levi's and show off my first ever Coues, the desert ghost. No, I don't have pictures! EBB
