Has been a great time the last 2 years as I have got to be with both my kids when they have taken there first deer, this is something I was not able to experience with my dad. But I truely believe that he was there looking down on us the whole time. This experience I will never forget and hope that it is just as memoriable to them. Take care to all and best of luck.

Wanted to share my daughter's first deer, she got this during the jr hunt in Oct. After 2 days she was able to to get this one on Sunday morning. It was a very cool experience to share with her, my son was able to get his first deer last year and that was also a get day. Best of luck to everyone on there hunts this year and take care. JSULLY

Thanks for the response Mulie hunter. I have hunted in the unit for a few years and my son and I each got a deer on the first mule deer hunt this year. Just wasnt able to locate any bucks during this hunt in the usual spots. We were camped off of Batamote rd just passed the abandon ranch house and the corral and the base of the first hill. Talked with several people and all said that they were just seeing does. I was just wondering if people where seeing any mulie bucks, glad to hear that some were. Gonna try and get her out one of the days remaining just got to arrange it with work and school. Once again thanks and congrats to your party on a successful trip.

Took my daughter down for the weekend. We saw lots of does but were unable to locate any bucks. This was her first hunt and she said she had a great time and wants to do it again. That is all that matters is the experiences you have and memories made,. We mostly concentrated on mulies, where u guys seeing mule deer bucks or whitetail. Gonna try and take her out one more time during the week . Hope everyone has a great holiday season.

Thanks guys was a fun hunt. We went 3 for 3 in the camp I got a 3x3 on opening morning and my friend got a small 4x3. Took them in to the locker on Friday and picked up my son from school and took him out for the weekend. Got him on a spike on Sat morn but couldnt get a shot off he stayed in the octillio thick it and made an escape. He started to get down after are morning hunt on Sunday but I keep telling him that it wasnt over and sure enough it came together that afternoon. After 4 years of no luck and missed shots my son got his first buck yesterday. We spotted a herd going to water at 330 and was able to get on them. He was so excited when the buck went down almost thought he was going to pass out. Was a very cool experience and something I wish I could of experience with my dad, but I believe he was there looking down on us. Best of luck to all of you this season and take care. JSULLY
