My buddy and I drew unit 31 in December!

Have any of you guys tried the Vortex 2x doubler on their binos? I know a lot of people don't like the Swaro doubler and I'm curious if the Vortex unit may be better. TIA. Mike

My first rifle was a Remington Model 514BR. It was a gift from my Dad on my twelfth birthday. He would give me three .22 shorts and a half an hour on my own to hunt/shoot rabbits on our ranch. The first rifle that I bought was a Win. Model 70 .30-06 when I was 15. I still use that rifle today as my first choice deer/hog rifle. Mike

36b in Oct. for Coues. Hopefully I'll be able to find that 100" buck I left behind last Dec.!

Coueselk, Your hunt sounds almost identical to my hunt down in 36b. About the only difference is we didn't whack any yotes and our bucks were 70" and 90". We glassed up 6 backpackers with bundles identical to the one's in your pics and as we didn't have a gps we drew a map and gave it to the bp. Were you around for the shootout in Arivaca b/w the bp and smugglers? We carried sidearms too, kinda looked over my shoulder during the whole hunt. Congrats on a couple fine bucks. Mike

I'll be in 36b in a green Ford 4-door p/u with a silver Airstream. Not sure where just yet as my amigo from Tubac hasn't made up his mind yet. He'll be in a Jeep Scrambler. Stop by for a cold one! Mike

I think that there are a few Mearns quail hunters that might disagree with you about there right to hunt there game of choice. The seasons and habitat of Mearns and Coues run together so who trumps who? I'm not picking a fight, just asking a viable question. Mike
