Hey tomgobbler, I have a friend that is a miniature bull and buckin horse contractor and I haul his rodeo stock a few times a year..... AZ, NM, KS, UT CO. They went to some big jr rodeos last year...Jr NFR. Love to see the young cowboys keeping the cowboy tradition alive !!! Great pics.

Daughter had some test at school today and got out early about 4 pm she decided to go down to the end of the road and pickup her brother where the bus lets him off. So she saddled up her favorite Quarter horse and rode off to pick him up ....lol I've had people ask me aren't you afraid your kids will get hurt riding horses ? I tell them no I want them ranch'n, ride'n, rope'n and hunt'n . It's kids that sit at home doing nothing but have their head stuck in some device getting fat and lazy....now that would scare me !! The local rodeo season starts in May and she has been wearing these horses out getting ready......

NO TAG GRAB IN ARIZONA !!!!!!!!! If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...... A friend of mine has been faithfully putting in for elk for 16 years and now has 17 points and still has never drawn an elk tag and these jokers want to put at least 200 privileged hunters ahead of him ? Go to Utah. http://kutv.com/news/local/allegations-of-corruption-surround-utah-hungtin-and-conservation-expo -

These guys that are supporting this new tag grab must spend the day watching CNN. They sound just like the liberal politicians and liberal news reporters !! Say anything to make you think they are for the good of the people as they get what they are after.....biggest bunch of BS I have seen on here since they were trying to BS their way into some of AZ’ s premier tags in 2012 . Instead of trying to steal the people’s tags which are hard as heck to come by spend your energy and fears another way, set up a .....Defened AZ wildlife... and charge $10, $20, $30 per member. Then you can cry, cry, cry about how hunting in AZ is coming to an end and help save it with more money in your pocket....but leave the tags alone !!! -
Cramerhunts, just look into SFW in Utah.......do a little research.

Wyoming just had a guy buy all the elk raffle tags in one day . This sounds like the same BS from 2012 also reminds me of people like Hilary Clinton and the rest of the snakes that spin what they are saying so you think you know what is being said until it is to late. Raise the price of tags or just put in a $25 per license......the wildlife of AZ need it fee if you think you need money but don’t let SFW and their corharts with all their underhanded, untruthful ways to the average AZ hunter get any tags in AZ . -

Thought when you became a paid LEO your job was to face the danger ? This guy will probably file a law suit and in a couple years be awarded a big check . Kinda feel sorry for him but when you want to be the man......you got to be the man !

If I am lucky enough to draw with 14 non res elk points who would be the outfitter to use for an early archery hunt ? I live in NM and hunt elk diy here but never have hunted 27 and really want to have the best operatunity to be successful after putting in for so many years. I have been thinking about 7 w also. Dont know if Ill draw or not but I know Im getting close.

Thanks for all the recommendations . Jim, I’ve been talking to Duwayne Adams and he is saying the same thing. His hunts are one price 14 days....... gotta love that !!

Thank you for the recommendations all. My goals are to have a real good archery hunt and hopefully kill a 335 on up. I live in NM and do hunt elk and scout a lot . I started putting in for AZ years ago while hunting my home state for elk and thinking I just wanted to accumulate a lot of points so some day I could draw a real good tag in AZ . I wasn't worried about waiting so long because of living right in the heart of elk country in NM. Now I have about enough points to draw a tag I've been wanting and got to thinking about after all these years I might ought to hire a quality outfitter. I have horses and everything you need to hunt big, rough elk country but instead of taking them over there it would be nice to have a guy experienced in the unit so we can just hit the ground running on day one.

We pulled a metal one once. I dont know what it weighed but it wasnt 2000 lbs. We would pull it up some then cut the pipe with a torch then pull some more. Red neck but we got er done. Think there were 8 joints of pipe ???? When we cut it we wrapped a chain around the pipe next to the well casing and had the other end hooked to the truck and pulled against the casing so the pipe wouldnt slip back down....cut it, backup and pull on it some more. All my brother in laws and friends are the diy type of guys....welders, heavy equip. operators, mechanics, non of them have smooth hands. When we lowered the pump back down you can bet it was hooked to black plastic pipe. Just Incase we ever had to pull it back up someday. Good luck!

Mikele, call Steve at South West Hunts. He runs a great outfit in NM and I would bet the ranch your friend and his son will be VERY pleased hunting with him . He has plenty of LO cow tags and puts on a great hunt and is very succesful. www.southwesthunts.com I wouldn’t recommend just anyone.

We pulled mine by hand, just had to keep wiping it off because it was wet and slippery in places. Once we got it started it came right up.... We had to put out some horse power but I have done a lot of things that were tougher than that.

About eight years ago on Thanksgiving morning my wife said .....hey do you know what’s wrong, there is no water ? Pump was shot . Next morning me, my brother in law and a friend pulled 180 feet of black pvc pipe out of the hole . Went to Town and bought a $400 Gould’s pump, tore off the old one, wired up the new one, tied a 200 foot nylon rope to the pump so if it some how came off the pvc we could pull the pump back up . Hooked it into the pitiless adapter on the side of the well casing and turned it on. Haven’t been without water since that day. I would have a hard time paying someone $1700 to do that ! About 4 hours and we were done. If your the kind of guy that’s not afraid to get your hands dirty.....get after it !!

The chopper ride was $63,500 then she had 3 surgeries over 3 days, spent 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital then spent two more weeks in a big rehab hospital then 8 weeks of rehab 3 times a week at the closest rehab place to us. I am sure that cost was well over a million dollars. The sign at the ABQ hospital said they would not refuse anyone money or no money . I told my wife we should have told them we don’t have Ins... think it would have been cheaper on us.

Last year my wife got hurt bad in NM up in a wilderness and had to be life flighted to Albuquerque. PHI charged $63,500 for the 139 mile flight and her health ins. paid all but $350 of it. Saved her life on the flight up to ABQ.

Put in a T-stat with an OFF on it. Get a generator and an electric blanket, set the blanket on number 8 put the T-stat about 65 and sleep in your underwear. Bring your water in or bring an insulated box to store it in.
