I hear ya on the point creep. When I first started applying for AZ elk I thought ok, I’ll invest 10 years but wasn’t planning on 20.. probably ought to lower my standards and move on. Thanks for the reply’s.

If you’re cutting wood Stihl is the way to go ! If your saw isn’t running right take it back and have the dealer make it run . Stihl gets it done.

Which of these two units would you want to draw ? I am pretty sure, but who knows.... that I have enough points as a non res to draw early archery 27 or 1 . Some guys say go for 27 others say go for 1 . I started putting in for AZ elk a long time ago and would like to draw out this next year and be done with buying points every year and just stay right here in the land of enchantment.

300rum I talked to a guy that spends a lot of time in 27and he said the same thing about the dead fall. He said he would go for 1 . I live where a big fire came through a few years ago, about 7 years ago and it is a &#@“& in places !

I have a Samsung S 6 about 5 or 6 years old and it is sinking fast so I need a new phone . I’m thinking of either the Samsung S 9 or an iPhone 8+ anybody got any info on either ? Good and bad..... Not interested in the iPhone x or any of the newly released iPhones the 8+ or the 9s I’m sure will do everything I need them to , just need to choose one.

Well it came down to price and believe it or not the Samsung 9 was $200 more than the iPhone 8 $100 more than the 8+ so I bought the iPhone 8. The iPhone XS was over$1200..... Thanks for the info.

I bought a pair of Lowa Tibet GTX boots last spring and am really liking them. There was no breakin period , I kept waiting for my feet to feel the pain on long hikes while turkey and antelope hunting but it never came , great support and very comfortable. I would say these boot are probably the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned.

I think most guys on here respect his milatery service but not his political career. Look how he disrespected the president and his former VP pick Palin by not having them at the funeral and gave the liberals a big boost in the arm by doing it. on x map will not work without a cell signal you need to download the area you want to go into in a place with a cell signal before you go into a place without coverage. I have on x but I am going to buy a year of the routing app Gaia and compare the two then get rid of the one I like the least. I also have a Garmin gps and would never leave it at home.

Years ago I had a lot of respect for McCain but now days I despise liberals and their freakish thoughts to have any respect for McCain. The liberals all hated him when he was running against Obama but now that McCain seems to have joined the Obama side they all love him.... RIP Senator, but you are no hero of mine. I’ve hunted elk many times here in NM. I have 15 nr elk points for AZ and an early archery tag for a great unit in hand, in September for screaming AZ bulls is at the top of my list !!! Maybe 2019

I live there. A lot of tourist come up here from the desert towns of Texas to get out of the heat. Once you leave the town of Ruidoso you get away from the tourist . There is the Lincoln National forest, a milllion plus acres you can explore, there are a couple of riding stables you can go for a trail ride, Lincoln is only about 15 - 20 miles from Ruidoso you can check out Billy the Kids home town and stop at old Fort Stanton tour that on the way. The Inn of the Mountain God casino is a pretty nice place if you go there check out the Hunting head quarters and you will some fine, huge mounted elk, the lake, ride the big zip line. Billy the Kid Casino and race track with some good quarter horse racing there..... is on the east side of town, so is the Hubbard museum. You like seeing pretty girls ? just go for a walk down town plenty of them walking around town on the weekend !!! Drive around and look for elk and deer. Some good places to drink beer in town and there are plenty of places to eat. Cloudcroft is a cool little town and you can drive through the Mescalero Indian res on the way to Ruidoso look for elk and watch for all the wild horses. It is all small town living up here, a lot of people come up for the weekend and are gone on Monday. Temps are in the mid to high 70s to mid 80s right now and maybe a little monsoon rain in the afternoon. There are a lot worse places you could spen a week at.

There's not a so called TV hunter I would waste 2 mins on. They're all full of it IMO....

Anyone know what it took this year for sure to draw a unit 1 or 3c early non res archery elk tag ? I have 15 points for 2019 and I would like to draw one of those units next year and get out of the points game and just stick to hunting my home state of NM . I was thinking about unit 27 but a well respected outfitter told me since the fire 27 is a mess ????? with all the blow downs ???? He advised me to just keep putting in for 1 and 3c until I draw.

5guyshunting has it figured out !!! Last time I had to put t post in rock we used a big Ingersoll Rand compressor and a rotating jack hammer with a drill bit then put the post in and hammer away with a t post driver. PITA !

Thanks WB. Dang I might have to change my way of thinking, by the time I reach 16 -18 points it will take 19 - 21 points. Any one want to buy some elk points ?

You could watch the show on tv channel ID called .....Fear Thy Neighbor ....and get some ideas but you would have to be willing to do some serious time.
