TriclawpsOutdoors replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Gentleman, I appreciate your posts. They are passionate. It’s that kind of passion that gets results. Before addressing this topic again I would like to say if we as sportsmen could channel that passion in a constructive, respectful way to not only helping wildlife but in our communities as a whole I feel like we would be better off. I personally believe a lot of the struggles we face in the hunting community are simply microcosms of the society as a whole. If we improve society, are respectful of differing opinions, and work together for a common end result…..we will improve our hunting heritage. Philosophically, I respectfully disagree with a “no position” being the same as support. There was great thought into that position. I do my best to be honest and non-hypocritical. I say this because, politically, I have grown weary of the political climate in this country. I have seen businesses and special interest groups wield their power and persuasion to get results circumventing the democratic process directly and indirectly by using their influence to motivate individuals into voting one way or another on an issue simply because of their popularity. It seems as though that is ONE of the reasons many of you who oppose this bill have a big problem with it…..not trusting the organization and the stewardship of the funds once it was generated. I can completely empathize with you on this matter. I am not saying there was this hidden agenda as implied but does this happen in today’s society? Most certainly. We have to have transparency when it comes to public resources. So I would be completely hypocritical if I would try and use my own personal company as a way to persuade even one friend one way or another on an issue such as this. An issue where there are two differing beliefs on how to best help our wildlife. Now on a personal level, I personally do not have a hard stance because honestly I didn’t even know about the bill until after these proposed changes were put to the table. It seems as though since they made those amendments the AZSFW even recognized that there were improvements that needed to be made. And that’s a direct result of people speaking up to stop something that seems to many to have been flawed, so kudos to all who helped keep the checks and balances in place. I am a man born of the scientific process. I do not make hard stances on an issue or make decisions in my life without due diligence based on fact. I have not done due diligence on this bill as I wasn’t even aware of it and I haven’t done my due diligence on the AZSFW to give an opinion on their integrity of an organization and honestly I don’t plan on it anytime soon. I have a primary career that eats up a huge chunk of my time, I started up a small business at a time that is not ideal for this, and more importantly I have gone through some major family changes in the last year where my PRIMARY focus is my kids. So when I say I don’t have an opinion on it, I don’t have an opinion on it. I trust that you as individuals just as any individuals that have any affiliation with Triclawps will do your own due diligence on issues such as this when you see fit. You do not need businesses trying to use their differing powers to messy the waters. I personally feel that is one of the major problems our society faces. This I will say as an official statement for Triclawps: Our interest and support is first, for the overall, long term health and conservation of wildlife and second, to maintain the rights and privileges of the shooting and hunting community to be stewards in the process of this conservation. We do not pretend to know the answers as to how to achieve that but one thing we would want is for UNITY and for these decisions to be made as a united group via diplomatic means…….I personally would be in support of a plan that achieved BOTH these desires but am against any proposition that does not have the majority support of The Sportsmen and divides us. On a personal level I want UNITY and as a business owner that is what I want…united sportsmen achieving our goals so we can focus more on what we love to do……That’s a win win for everyone involved. That should make it clear where I currently stand on this issue WITHOUT KNOWING ALL OF THE BILL'S SPECIFICS. I understand there is frustration on this issue but trust me as I’ve outlined Triclawps is not your enemy here as we were wrongly brought in to this. We are an ally and support UNITY of Sportsmen not one particular group. And in specifics, we are focused on doing what we do best, providing useful tools to help Sportsmen be successful in the field! Feel free to email me with any knowledge or thoughts you all may have on this particular issue or any future conservation questions as I love healthy discussion for a common goal! I have provided my personal email for this. Thanks! Cade Smith smithcade@hotmail.com -

I wanted to take this opportunity to address this current hot topic regarding the proposed House Bill 2072 regarding Arizona's wildlife conservation. Understandably, this has been a heated and passionate event. Apathy does no service to the democratic process. We believe it is healthy and necessary as individuals to take notice and be heard anytime the future of wildlife conservation may be impacted, along with the possible effects it may have on us as sportsmen. Having said that, Triclawps, LLC., is in the sole business of making a superior shooting platform for hunters and marksmen, period. Triclawps, LLC., is not in the business of politics. We do not and will not have a company position on HB2072. The opinions expressed in the email posted above were sent from Jay Lopeman's personal email account, and were the personal thoughts of Mr. Lopeman himself. It was unfortunate to have our web address in Jay's automatic email signature, as it appears to have implied our official support of HB2072. It is unfair to assume that the individuals comprising Triclawps, LLC., share Jay's opinions, when in reality they could very well have no opinion, or one contrary to Mr. Lopeman. We would therefore ask that any questions, concerns, or statements regarding this email be directed to Mr. Lopeman himself, to give him the opportunity to explain or defend his beliefs. Our company stands on its merits of manufacturing and providing the most versatile shooting support system on the market. Again, all of our efforts are spent in helping more sportsmen make more shots and thus create more memories in the field. If you'd like to discuss this further, send us an email via our website including your phone number. I'd be happy to discuss our non-position with you personally. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Cade Smith President/Owner Triclawps LLC
