Dont let an early snow keep you out of the unit trophy.

Ugly I did not apply for the late hunt as i felt i did not have enough points. I drew an archery 3c tag last year so i thought what the heck i will apply north of the river and then 32 for a whitetail tag. I live in the 3c area but i like to travel the state and hunt different places. I havnt been on the Bab for several years and gave it a shot. My daughter was the last to hunt it in 2008 and she killed a great buck though not as big as my sons 3c buck from two years ago. So with me drawing out at tag 115 would i have had a chance at the late hunt there?

I was blessed with a 12A w early tag this year. Very surprised at drawing the tag with my brother and a good friend. I have hunted this unit early on archery hunts, early rifle hunts, and been on one of the late hunts. The only hunt i was ever on that seemed to have any weather was the late hunt and it snowed a few days before the hunt. It was an excellent hunt. Ive killed deer in the unit but nothing i would hang on the wall. The late hunt i was on was with a buddy that wanted my help. Any of you guys that have hunted it consistently i have this question. If the El nino is strong this year as expected does it affect deer movements .

woody, I killed him in 27. lol he mustve been a travelin fool. I dug that broadhead out of his left shoulder just below the point of my bullet impact. The blades were still closed. Wouldve been a nice archery bull. He was broken at the G5 on the left side when i shot him and he still tapes out at 343. 7 on the right side. I wouldve loved to have seen him during the archery season. 13.5 inch bases on him and real wide.

Anyone use a mine expandable hit a bull in 27 this last year they couldn't recover? Not trying to hijack the thread but it's on the same topic.

750 - 1000 wolves planned in Az; meeting planned this weekend

OK folks I am the writer of the original thread on MM. I dont get on here much or there as I work so much and dont have much time to spend on these places as id like to. The question of the 750 to 1000 wolves is true. I was at the original meeting with AZ G&F, some legislators, other state dept directors, tribal heads, cattle growers and cattlemens assoc reps etc. G&F reps who im not going t name at this point but are at the head of the table confirmed everything i wrote. The USFWS and wolf advocacy groups DO have a plan to put that many wolves int this state, the north Kaibab WAS mentioned as being a part of this plan as well as southern AZ. Game and Fish biologists said "this state cannot afford this umber of wolves." Adding that it would decimate the deer and elk herds. It is no disputable at this point because I am telling you this is what happened. I work for the state and was there at the meeting. Im not going to get into the intricate details as to who and why i was there at this point, if you have any questions about me you can ask Allen Taylor if I'm credible or not. I am just as passionate about these issues as any one . Im just tryign to get everyone on board with one another n en effort to create a group able to put up a fight. I have no pull other than in my job and that is next to nothing. Im a public servant. Now it is up to you to organize your conservation groups with cattlemans assoc and growers and get the heavy hitters in the legislature to act. There is a formula. What is is I don't now yet but its there somewhere. JD -
