I think all of you have made great points and it has given me food for thought! I am with Jim in that I believe Mr. Big is going to be in the nastiest country he can find and will be in the top 2/3's of the hill. I would be glassing up high, which would make moving around to change glassing locations easier and desterb fewer deer. This would be a spot that I would noramly pass up because of the road; although, I'm sure it holds it's fair share of deer with the water and cover it has. Great thred!

Hey Scott, You are one step ahead of my wife and I. We have two girls ( Carly Ann 5 and Lilly Katherine 1.5) and have been trying for a boy. SWEEEEEEEET buck! On a side note, I was wondering how the quail hunting is around Elfrida? I use to get on the Whites farm but a couple of years ago some knuckelheads drove accross one of his cut corn fields and he said no more. So obviously I havn't been out there in a few years. Congrats again on a fine deer!

I loaned my four year old finished Shorthair to a buddy last night who planned to take him to South Dakota. Long story short my dog got away from him and so farr I havn't found him yet. My buddy lives off of Sandario and Magee. My name and # are on the collar but so far no calls. I spent most of the night looking for him with no luck. I fear someone has pick him up and claimed him for their own. If you could keep an eye out for him I would appreciate it. If I knew how to post a pic I would so you at least might recognize him. I have heard some good things about that guy in snowflake. I use pigeons to find tune my dogs on steady to wing and shot...rarely use anything else as I don't want them to be cought. I have a few apartment complexes where I have traps set. I was up in the high country prior to my elk hunt working dogs and went through about 100 birds and I just sold 150 to a group, but I still have about 100 birds in my coupe. Love that pic of your dogs with the rockies in the backround. I'll send you my #.

I am with you Scott, I have four GSP's and I would not want them to take a load of 8's to the head. I can not make the opener, as I tend to wait for a good freeze before running my dogs. My vote is Feb, otherwise count me in.

I run several cam's year round mostly south but occasionally in unit 1 and have never had one stolen. I have never seen another hunters cam either. With that being said, I hunt very remote areas where 95% of the hunters/hikers never go.

I had a pair nesting in my back yard. Also, I've seen them while hunting quail around Elfrida.

I shot the Shuttle T's last night. Shot just like my field points and had a 3" group at 40 yards with three arrows. Will shoot 50, 60, and 70 soon, I'll keep you posted!

ANy problems with them opening up in your quiver or in flight?
