Just got back today and the road is still blocked at the knoll. We hiked way up into the forest about 9000 ft. and found birds everywhere. The gobblers are hend-up, but were responding to calls and comming in after the hens nested. Sorry, but there are two long beards missing from unit 1. FYI- when we hiked into the higher elevations we found there were lot's of people driving around the barricades.

Now I'm not into tatt's at all, but it would have to be a GSP on a rock hard point of a mearns quail. Oh, and I agree with your wife, you're nuts.

I think it would be a big mistake to use a 17hmr. Why would you want to? I had 2 that I would use for praire dogs but that's it. I would never even use them on 'yotes. Your goal should be to put the pig down quickly, the 17 will NOT do it.

Larry, I'm sorry to hear about your hunt. I'm especially sorry to hear about the LOOOOOOOSER who is missing three fingers and carries around tools to mess with other hunters. Keep the faith my friend. I congratulate you on your efforts.

I spent 5 days hunting down south and never felt uneasy. I spend quite a bit of time down there and have had many encounters with UDA's and smugglers. They seem to want to avoid me as much as I want to avoid them. With that being said, I believe it pays to be cautious and have the necessary phone #'s stored in your cell phone and to use extreme caution when contact is made. What's the story with the automatic gun fire?

Hey Scott, Very cool bull, way to go. I think you met a budddy of mine who was hunting unit 1. Him and his father-in-law came by your camp. His name is Sean and his FIL was Gary.
