  1. Am I the only one counting MINUTES down till you leave to go hunting? i cannot wait to go hunting. I am literally goig crazy waiting for Wednesday to come around to leave on my hunt. I bought a new Yamaha Rhino for this years hunt as i sold my Jeep. Anyone up for meeting up in Arivaca anywhere? I have a house there and we can BBQ What is everyone doing to pass the time by? Tomorrow is the big gun show here in Vegas and I figured I would go purchase 500 more rounds of 30-06 shells to last me the next few months. (no i do not plan on missing that many shots) Then Sunday is Football, Monday and Tuesday is getting caught up on my paperwork so I can sneak out of here for the hunt Tuesday night or so. WOOHOO... I am literally counting the minutes down till I leave.

    Stickers!

in case you miss my PM I would like a CouesWhitetail.com sticker in 15" in white for my RHino and a 28" (so it fits on my center rear window of my Titan) as well in White. I only have 28.5" side to side so 28 would be perfect.

    myspace group

What is negative about myspace? Competition for this site? Hardly. Myspace has a HUGE member base and many times people visit your page then look through your interests groups etc. I have many hunters from aroudn the country ono my page... they would maybe get interested in Coues if they read it on my page.

younghunter, let me know what it looks like down there I have a Nov. tag and haven't had a chance to get down yet. good luck and have fun. there are no deer anywhere. DO not bother going hunting... they are few and far between and i think it is best if you rest up for next year.

    $25 Bucks

    Unit 36 huh?
  19. vegasjeep

    king buck

not when people have slashed tires and damaged hunters vehicles who have been hunting in the area where these two bucks have been killed. This is the story I know of and indeed relatives of the stockwells. the things and stories I have heard indeed would lead me to believe most of the stories told are probably true.

    king buck

Is any of these guys related to Ed stockwell? After a conversation with eddie this past weekend I was made aware that his cousin had shot a huge non typical in the 15X range. He also had a replica in Cabellas in Phoenix.
  21. After a visit to Eddie Stockwells house I got some crazy info for everyone. The Coues deer mount that is in the world record books sits right inside Eddies house. Cabellas purchased the mount for 1000 dollars. They write up a contract to give royalties off of each reproduction head they make. Well they have seen ZERO royalties as of yet. 47 times the antlers have been reproduced.
  22. I saw lots of deer around 40 in all and around 20 bucks. A few good size deer too. Saw the same deer as last time out that is posted in another thread and he has grown a bit more. He is without a doubt 120" 4 point Deer. I also saw some mulies. Heres some interesting pics of some mulies and a small coues deer. most of these pics were at less then 50 yards
  23. My opinion is that the lower, easier country tends to have more deer numbers and smaller bucks on the early hunts, and the bachelor herds of older bucks stay up in the thick, rough, and remote stuff, but are in lesser numbers. I also killed a nice "forkie" last year on the Oct. hunt and you probably heard my shot on opening day if you were where you spoke of! I started off way low and speed hiked past all the does' and small bucks and gazillion other hunters to try and get way into the remote country and that is where I found the bigger bucks by themselves, and fewer deer numbers in comparison to the lower country. This is not always the case but seems to be fairly common in my experiences. There are big bucks down low but are usually runnin' scared from the chaos of all the other hunters, I'd rather glass em' up bedded or feeding unaware they about to become dinner! JIM> you about summed up my experience as well. The migrant traffic seems to be way down from last year. I did however see three bus loads from a huge group coming across.
  24. You know that part!!!! No really I go out towards Ajaz mine alot and hump over two mountain ranges to the south.
