  1. Saw it around 1115 hours on Friday. I was headed out to cabelas actually
  2. THat buck has now been seen twice in the same area!!! Going back on Tuesday to pick my quad up in Tucson and do some scouting down there again. Really looking forward to Oct 22nd!! LOL That helicopter was coming in not to look for people with what they were doing and then they brought BP in on quads. On my way out one BP truck was hauling but in there I have seen hundreds of different times BP was taking illegals into custody. This time it was just different.
  3. So what does everyone think about through nice buck? Very thick, tall, huge eye guards, and a great sized rack!

    Coues Deer

If you were around Stockwell much then you probably know my entire family. The Schaffners worked his bees fro many years and lived at the first white house on the left as you enter Arivaca..

    36A

There are plenty opf deer in 36a. Head to arivaca, go through and the big hill with the "A" on it will let you see plenty of deer and net you a 90" or bigger buck. Seen quite a few this past couple of days

    36b

I have seen all that and then some while hunting. Uneasy at times, yep, unsafe, well I carry a pistol around with me. Not go hunt in the area? never.... 1500 other hunters a year in 36b alone disagree with you. Stuff is happening down by the borders but the place has no reason to be abandon.

There are a lit of things going on down south but camping and hunting is still fine to do. You are so off in left field about not wanting to head to the unit. More power to you! Stay away, its terrible down there.

    new gun!

My main reason for building my new rifle was my old one had a camo stock and stainless barrel and matching scope. I had many hunters tell me that they cannot see me at all if it was not for the stainless barrel glistening in the sun. Youll be buying a Timney trigger in no time for that rifle. THe trigger ust is not a great trigger and adjustability is just not there

    Meat proccessing

I always hunt in 36A or B and usually bring my deer back up to Kingman to process it on my way to Vegas. Now that I am in Phoenix I need to find someone around here who does it well, does not skim and is reasonable. I used to pay 50 bucks in Kingman and thats butcher, and wrap and making sausage out of some.

    greenery in 36b

I was down there last week before the rain and some of them were pretty slim in the water department. I think this year as a whole will be drier then last year!

    greenery in 36b

Last year in June 36b got over 13 inches of rain. Come hunting season it had dried up quite a bit. This year has been way drier then last year, in fact no rain in June and nothing until the last couple days in July. so how scarce will water be for the animals this year? How dry will the shrubs be?

    AKC dog papers

Unfortunately if he does not get the papers and provide them to you there is nothing you can do. In my experience it takes about 1 week to receive papers from the time the paperwork is sent in on the parents. It is also my experience that if you dont get papers at the time of pick up and payment the parents are probably not registered dogs and the litter cannot be papered either. good luck to you

    They are out

no kidding! However, I am up at 2am to head down to the 36 units for a little scouting action this morning. See what is moving around and how big the antlers are getting. Anyone else just on a whim want to get out and drive the hills?
  23. I purchased a Remington 7mm last hunting season and like everything, you do not get around to thinking about it till you are getting it out to hunt with. Well aside from the gun being really nice and I have shot two bullets through it to say I shot it, I have not mounted a scope on to it as of yet. LOL!!! I have been thinking about a Leupold VX-L 4.5-14-50mm with a boone and crockett rectical. I have seen these for under $800 bucks http://cgi.ebay.com/Leupold-VX-L-Rifle-Sco...4#ht_774wt_1167 Seems that the newer version of this scope is now the VX3L http://cgi.ebay.com/Leupold-VX-3L-Scope-4-...4#ht_963wt_1167 now my question is, Is this a great scope for the money? What other scopes in this price range would anyone suggest that will provide the same quality, clarity, and function as this Leupold. I currently have had a Leupold VXII on my 30-06 and have loved it.

Well. I picked up a Timney trigger for my gun today. I highly recommend these guys for anyone with a Remington 700. They are out of Phoenix and SUPER nice guys.
