I'd say you guys did pretty good for 3 1/2 days of moisture. Very nice deer, and congratulations on your hunt. Now that you know what your in for, next year should be just as succesful for you. Good Job ! Mike

Thanks for the kind comments, I am truly happy about getting this deer. Doug, the dog is my little hunting buddy, extremely well trained and I pretty much take her with me on all of my hunts. It's especially good to have her when I hunt in those southern units near the border. she has spooked plenty of illegals on more than one occaision when they have got too close or have tried to steal from me, late at night and your half asleep. Yea, it really can suck especially when you are seconds away from shooting a good deer and all of the sudden, the deer scatter and disappear only to have several illegals re-appear in the same spot. I have caught them trying to steal water from my cooler in the middle of the night.

Congratulations goes out to you Kevin. The country you are hunting is absolutely beautiful, perfect whitetail country. I have been hunting in an area down there the past few weeks which is not even close to that kind of country. Are you hunting closer to Arizona as opposed to somewhere down near Hermosillo?
