    Our Oct 36C hunt

The game and fish must be thinking the same thing. Cause they set up check stations in the lower units just to check for CWD. If i would of taged out i was going to take mine to have it tested. But i doubt thats the case here, i know i go running to the table if one of my favorites is being served .

    32 misery

Hey everyone, glad to hear so many of you got yur deer or helped others with thiers. I was blanked in 32 all due to my hurry to get out in the field. On opening day i glassed 2 shooters so after a hard climb decent climb i was within range. I prepare for the shot when my rifle just fires, luckly they dont spook so i ready for another try BAM another unprompted discharge. When i flip the safety to the fire position the weapon discharges. This being a MAJOR safty issue i decide to head back to camp and get my back up rifle (a must have). Well long story short in the mist of getting going on the hunt i 4 got to pack the AMMO doh. I feel like i cheated myself. I was at least able to spot for a buddy and seen a nice nice buck but he was unable to make the shot. So he lives for another day or season who knows. I am taken my rifle to a smith and getting excited for the next round of bow season, man i love this sport. Even though i didnt tag out i had a great time in the field. good luck to the rest of the seasons hunters cant wait to see pics and hear the stories.

    32 misery

Thats what i do, nvr rack a load until i am in firing postion that way it is always heading down range, i figure if they can fire off several rounds at JFK within a few seconds i can also at a deer. Miss a deer or injure a person hmmm thats a no brainer in my book. But anywho the smith called and said that whomever worked on my rifle last messed with a trigger screw that they shouldnt have . Hmmm that only leaves one person and it wasnt me. i let a buddy "borrow" my rifle for his elk hunt and he took it upon himself to "adjust" the trigger for a lighter action, he droped to it 3lbs without informing me of course. What an A$$!! he said i was lucky the action didnt open up on me, i must of racked it with "lightning speed" it could have killed me. So all is well with the ol savage again but i am still little uneasy about firing it again, is that normal? Thanks, Huntsmen

    32 misery

Its mishappens like this we all thank god we practice hunter(rifle) saftey. Its a story to tell the kids on how important it is to nvr be infront of a loaded weapon no matter who is holding it. The weather was great little warm but breezy it kept them beded down most of the day.

Lark, My "backup" rifle is a rem 700 mountain rifle in .270, i think this will now be my "main" for awhile lol. But i will be in the market for another rifle i have nothing but issues with the savage everything for the barrel to getting a scope to fit right. this time i think i have had it with the rifle after it gets back from the smith its being sold. Now i have to get out and practice with the bow a bit its been 3 months since i held it lol.

    Illegals on your Hunt!!

I just dont understand how the goverment can send troops thousands of miles away to rebuild a country that doesnt directly affect us, yet does little if anything to one that has caused more damage here at home. But anyway i want to talk about deer cause we only ONE week to WOOOHOO ladies and gents.

    Illegals on your Hunt!!

Its not so much the illegals that bother me it's the coyotes and smugglers that i worry about. I have come back to camp and found that all my water and snack foods have been "removed" but i have a buddy who has had his truck stolen, later recovered filled with illegals. Its one of the growing issues the U.S faces everyday. All we can do is watch each others backs while in the field. Take care out there and remember to keep one eye open while asleep.
  20. Well 1st rounders the time is almost amoung us. I wanted to wish everyone a nice safe hunt. And to remind everyone its spending time with family and friends that makes this time special not the size of the kill (but it does help). Good luck to all Colin

    Unit 32

I am torn between both ranchers and hunters. I understand that if the ranchers regulate the amount of traffic through the area they can pin point these morons with weapons doing the damage and bring them to justice. However paying to get from point A to B is a hit in the pocket book for anyone. I just do my best to meet the ranchers of the areas i will be hunting and make it apoint to let them know i always bring out more trash then i pack in. And i treat the area as if i was a guest in someones home with total respect. OK thats my 2 cents.
