To all interested. like stated before the deer are there you will just have to get out and find them, they are not going to jump infront of your truck for you. Some long hard hikes will give you the best chance at seeing a shooter. The area is over run with hunters true but most are road or lazy hunters. If you pack into the wilderness area all you will run into is some great views plenty of deer and the fellow hunter put as much time and effort into the hunt as yourself. I normally camp in the Ash Creek area and hump in from there for a few days, its an RV lot but once you get about a mile up its only you. I will be there the early Nov. hunt so if anyone has that hunt look for my Wrangler cant miss it with the big CouesWhitetail.com sticker taking up most of the windshield. Everyone have a safe and fun hunt.

i hunt 32 every year for the past 8 years and there are plenty of deer to go around, most hunt via atv so like the others have said hiking into the wilderness is your best chance plan on a very hard hump in. Scouting as much as you can will help tons. I have the early Nov. hunt so i will long gone by time you get your chance. As for the mtn lions yeppers and you cant forget the bears either. Glass glass glass and then glass some more. pm me if you have any other questions

Take your dog and shoot it

i have had dogs all my life (father was an animal control officer) and although pit bulls are by nature a agressive animal like a few others have stated they need to be youthNized not murdered. Look at it from an wild animal point of view if u found and kept a baby mtn lion its still programed to hunt and kill no matter how u treat it same goes to these animals. for the people who have them as pets and love thier loving nature u have one of the few out there and although u may have treated it right all it takes one thing to set them off into an uncontrollable range. Consider yurselfs lucky it hasnt happened yet.

    Good Buck

I noticed the 2 in plain sight and failed to see the 3rd, so i asked my wife "hey honey how many deer do u see" she walks up,looks over my shoulder and says 3 why how many are there. She is not a hunter, the only deer she has seen in the wild are the doe by the side of the road. I thought i had her with the doe in the back ground geesh. I asked her how she saw him, she says because i am always talking about the antlers and such and when she was checking them out the back ground deer winked at her (smartA$$) .Hope u get a chance to stick that toad come archery time(i cant wait).

GAME AND FISH TO CHANGE HUNT STRUCTURES

Thats all we need is for more hunters in the early hunts to trip over. Old saying that i live by "if its not broke dont fix it". I am all for allowing for more people to enjoy hunts but a hunter survey would have been nice. Like alot of ya have said most hunters that put in for the dec hunts fully understand the odds and are willing to accept them. I would love for a dec hunt but for now i am totally happy with just filling the freezer or in this years case tag soup.To also keep in mind there is also the dec-jan archery hunts that i think of as trophy hunts and we dont have to worry about local and draw odds so there is a silver lining to this cloud. Best of luck on this battle and if time permiting i am going to attend a meeting or 3 just to help out my fellow hunters that i believe have a strong case. p.s i got blanked on my unit 9 elk tag TONS of fresh sign just a day late and a hill short i guess.

    Mace's Buck

like many have stated its the harvest of the animal that counts, if its spike to a monster 4x4 130 thats all a bonus and just a bonus. Congrats on the harvest of a beautiful animal.

    Unit 9 elk

Hey all, i am leaving for my cow hunt a day late so if anyone has any areas i should look at 1st that would greatly help. I scouted a few weeks ago and saw a few bulls and no cows and of course i have a cow tag. So if you have a kind word i would be greatly thankful. Thanks, Huntsmen
