    Binocular Repair-- Doctor Optic 15x60

I've heard good things about mountain optics as well. I sent mine back to Germany for repair and it got a bit pricey. Good luck

    First and last light coues

I've been extremely happy with clarity. Longest target shooting has been at 900 and clarity was excellent at that distance. Unfortunately, I can't afford to collect these scopes. I purchased a vortex 6.5-20x44 for my wife's rifle and I just bought a vortex 6.5-20x50 to mount on a scouting rifle (never leave home w/o lion tag and rifle). I wish I had feedback on these scopes but I haven't used either one yet. One shot, For a guy who shoots all them critters w traditional equipment, I'm surprised you even allow yourself the use of a scope. I would have guessed iron sights for you. What can I say, I need to make up for less skills. Your resume is long my friend and I admire your passion and success.

    First and last light coues

I use the 20x exclusively for shooting. If needed, I will acquire the animal in a lower magnification and then turn it up. I'm very happy with my scope, absolutely no regrets. Leupold will do a custom elevation knob for $65 I think, at least that was price when I got mine. Personally I wouldn't consider a 14 or 16x for a coues rifle. We tend to glass long range in steep country, reaching out a couple hundred more yards in certain situations can prove critical when the distance would be tough to cut.

    Correction period eliminated

If I were to purchase the lifetime set up, how does it apply to the family discount on spouse and children? I understand the rule change, we had a friend of my son's buy a license so we could send in left over apps and he didn't get it on time. So, now he has a license that expires at the end of the year and probably won't use it unless I take him predator hunting or something like that. Left overs were gone unexpectedly quick this year!

    Hunting Virgin

If your are not using a tripod, your going to have a hard time finding deer. Best glassing hours are between sun up and 9-10am and then again from about 4 til dark. Finding deer mid day when they are most likely laying down is tough even for the seasoned veteran. I would concentrate on the more open terrain if you can and my experience has been the highest concentraition of coues will be around 5000 feet which also tends to be the easiest to glass IMO. There should be some good starting points listed with Game and Fish, also don't be afraid to contact the game wardens for your unit and let then know it is your first hunt. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Also don't be afraid to sit water from a couple hundred yards away between 10-4. Many guys agree that deer will water mid day and it's not the best time to glass anyway. It's a good way to make the most of your hunt. Good luck on your hunt and hopefully you can tag your first big game animal.

    Giant Velvet Coues buck!

The first picture I received had two logos on it. I believe the other one was Troy Brock? I'm curious why this one only has mossback on it? That's a crazy cool buck, congrats to the hunter for sure!!!
  10. I made it through the first couple pages of comments, I must say I'm concerned and alarmed to read the responses. These are the same people who will without a doubt vote away our hunting rights. I know that is a stretch, but I fear we will lose the numbers game eventually with the constant push of the "wussification" of mankind. With "organized" comments like those, I find hard to believe the delisting will come anytime soon. Who really cares about facts anymore in America, it's really all about feelings and emotions right?

Trade Sportmans Gift Card for Trail Cam

I have a brand new stealth cam. I think retails for $120 I can trade. It's not one of their base models.

ethics? how would you handle this situation?

Enforcement? Radios are perfectly legal in the use of stalking game. The record books will not accept animal where electronic devises were used, IE radios or even rangefinders I believe. Definitely a bad break for you guys though. Hopefully next time you'll have a good buck to yourself.

    Early Archery Deer Hunts

I'll agree whole heartily with this post. I also agree it is because of schedule. Mid-Sep would be a great date to arrow a big coues in velvet. Disclaimer: I do not eat antlers

    Opinions on Craigslist problem

I think if your going to use craigslist, you have to use a hard line approach. Tons of low ballers and flakes. I recently sold tires/wheels on there and was amazed at the requests to deliver or meet for the sale and on top of that, the low ball offers when my price was very reasonable.

    Opinions on Craigslist problem

This is a really simple question IMO. Your terms were easy to understand and the deposit was "fair". I would re-list the item. It's not responsibility to "blow up his phone." I'm curious to why you put 60 days?

    E-Scouting

I'm just curious if there is a huge uptick in E-scouting this year? It seems like every time I log on there is a new request for needing an area to go hunt. It's pretty tough to find a "quality" area to hunt. So many tags given out and a lot of different rifle hunts going on back to back. I know I'm a wt junky and I'm thankful I have the ability to go scouting and spend time in the field on a regular basis. I just can't see me giving up info to random E-scouting scenarios. What's everybody's take on this? I've certainly had help from guys on this forum, and one of those guys I owe a pretty big buck to. Where you at Cody.... LOL Anyway, maybe I becoming an Ebenezer in my old age........ On a final note, if any of you guys want to pm me coordinates of monster bucks, I just cleaned up my inbox so I have plenty of room for new messages.

    Another noob with questions

You Tube should have plenty of field dressing videos, including the gutless method. Although I haven't read it, I have heard Dwayne Adams' book on glassing is a good read with plenty of good tips. I would start scouting if you have the time, bucks are pretty well developed now. Good luck on your first deer hunt, best of luck to you! Please keep us posted on how it goes, good or bad.

I would compare P&Y and B&C for both and come up with your number based on those two.
