Boys and Girls, here is the deal. Josh's comments are obscene to me (isn't it obvious?), same as mine are to you, understand? There are at least 2 sides to every story, believe it or not. The things I dislike in people you prolly don't understand as I am not like you. Everybody gets to post their opinions here, and as soon as I post mine you guys whine and try to get members to jump on the bandwagon and have Amanda banish me. We've been thru all this before, remember? Josh's comment regarding education -vs- common sense is a filthy, vile, insult to every hardworking student in America. It's an insult to every person that went into debt to go to college. It's a insult to every person that stayed out of trouble, sacrificed, and worked hard to earn a degree or several of them. It's an insult to scientists and technologists that have worked to advance our society and our knowledge of things. For a youngster who has prolly spent his entire life in one chickensheet town to make such an outrageous, unfair statement..........is just plain WRONG. And I greatly object. And I will fire back. Josh opened his post with this wonderful, enthusiastic comment. Just what kind of response did you think it would get Josh, huh? You knew very well it was this kind, didn't you? This is the stuff you all get when a statement like that is made on a public forum. Expect it every time. Allen Taylor, open up the current edition of the ADA Magazine and look on Page 3. You will see my name listed under 'Sustaining Members'. I am one of only two non-residents listed there. I am also in the process of approaching ADA about doing an article for the magazine in order to contribute more to the organization. I have also approached an ADA officer about offering my help to Arizona Strip habitat improvement projects. I will do it Allen, and I will take time off from work at leave-without-pay to do it. And I expect to see you there, Allen. Last week I ordered $400 in artwork from a sponsor of this site and I'm really looking forward to having it on my walls. I also bought books and vids from this site a while ago. I also donated $100 to this site a while ago. What have you done to support this website Josh & Allen & Az4life & Couesdiehard & .25-06??? Please don't hesitate to list it all right here. Please don't hold back.

Once again young Mr. Epperson kiddo, you irritate me with your worldly, absolute, expert knowledge of everything involving hunting. Don't see too many bigguns on your website, tho. Is Lark your role model and friend or something? Perhaps you just have an education envy or some other envy? However, you do run a chance of being right about AZGFD overharvesting muleys in the Kaibab. What's partly at issue is the carrying capacity of the winter range, not someone's education level or common sense. But what is really at issue is why hunters in all western states financially support game departments that manage game for political reasons and not science or what the majority of hunters want. Also, why does the funding of the G & F departments always come before the hunters, when we are paying the bills? You oughtta see what is going on right now for Utah elk and Colorado muleys. It ain't pretty. The bureaucrats justify offering more tags as 'more hunter opportunity', but what they really mean is more $$$ for the agency. Too many agencies are in the business of selling licenses, not trophy animals. This situation prolly ain't gonna change as this is a REALLY f'd up society that we live in. My solution to all this horsesheet is to scout a lot, spend a lot of time out in the hills, scout and hunt harder than the average guy, work hard to learn the habits and behaviors of older animals, so that I can produce one in units that are managed for $$$ for G & F departments, not for trophy quality. If I liked other things in life, I would quit hunting today and pursue them. Unfortunately, I don't, so here I am.

Unbelievable Bowhunting Accident
CHD replied to CHD's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Relax az4life, it's not a troll. I was just messin' with you guys. These pics were sent to me by a buddy over a year ago with none of the data or information about the guy or the accident. So, unfortunately, I have none to post here. I woulda said so had I known that the suspense was killing you. It would make an exciting, stimulating story tho, if it was true that this happened on a caribou hunt in nowhere Northwest Territories and the broadhead and skull piece were removed using a buck knife pounded by a rock with whiskey for anesthesia, LOL. Lots of hits already on this thread. I figured you guys might like to see some human blood and guts for a change, LOL. But don't say I didn't warn you first. -
This isn't meant to gross anyone out, but as an educational post. This is the rare coy-poodle with a bad case of mange that was trapped in Wyoming this year. Mange causes hair loss, and these dogs actually die from hypothermia, not mange. I never knew this until recently.

Bowsniper, why in the world would you ruin a potentially great thread on this incredibly boring forum? -

Don't hold back Shiras, LOL.

Hey Scott, Thanks for the pics, buddy. They look somewhat familiar, lol. These, evidently, are deep sea creatures that washed ashore after the tsunami in Asia.

I'm also disappointed in the lower non-resident fees. I was looking forward to better drawing odds. I like the paper-applications-only rule, tho. I think you guys should lobby for $5,000 non-resident Strip muley tag fees.

Robin Bechtel wrote an article in Eastmans' Journal a decade or so ago honoring Lamell. He had taken huge animals of all kinds. Sure would liked to have spent some time in the hills with Lamell. Any who did are very fortunate.

Hey KGAINES, since when did they stock blue whales in AZ waters, lol. Man, that is a brute of a catfish. Was he living in that little 'ol stream? How much did he weigh? Thanks for the pic.

KP, I am the world's worst fisherman so I gave up fishin' 20 years ago. Don't even own a rod and reel these days. I just never had the proper instruction, and never seemed to be able to understand the habits and behaviors of fish so that I could regularly whack 'em. I always liked the warm water fish tho, since I grew up in southern New Mexico. I caught catfish, bluegills, carp, a few crappie, and all kinds of trout (cold water fish) when I was a yonker, but nothing that would raise an eyebrow. I saw the NM state record flathead catfish when I was a kid, caught in Elephant Butte Res. Can't remember exactly what it weighed, but it was longer than I was. Once when I was about 8 years old, my Grandpa's friends stopped by with a HUGE amount of catfish from Elephant Butte and the Rio Grande River. I'll never forget that, as they had a TON of cats from little bitty ones up to cats that prolly weighed 30 lbs or so. Wish I had a pic of that. However, I did read thru your article since you made the effort to post it here. Sounds like you definitely know somethin' about crappie fishin'. Got any huntin' articles??? Take care.

Taxidermist? Replica skulls
CHD replied to Flash's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Here are three of mine that I did myself. It's pretty easy, no need to have some else do it. These kits are from Rinehart Taxidermy Supply Co and don't cost very much. The pedestals can also hang from the wall. They look real to me. The only problem I've had is the antelope skull turned yellow from sun exposure. I sealed the gap between the pedicles and the skull with Dap (white caulk) and it is hardly noticeable. I epoxied the anchor bolts (all-thread) into the antlers to be there forever. Antelope horn sheaths will come off easily after boiling the skull for a little while. I used plaster-of-paris on the antelope horn sheaths to install them on the skull. -
Things you'll never hear a redneck say

I'll take Shakespeare for 1000, Alex. Duct tape won't fix that. Honey, I think we should sell the pickup and buy a family sedan. Come to think of it, I'll have a Heineken. We don't keep firearms in this house. Has anybody seen the sideburns trimmer? You can't feed that to the dog. I thought Graceland was tacky. No kids in the back of the pickup, it's just not safe. Wrestling's fake. Honey, did you mail that donation to Greenpeace? We're vegetarians. Do you think my gut is too big? I'll have grapefruit and grapes instead of biscuits and gravy. Honey, we don't need another dog. Who gives a crap who won the Civil War? Give me the small bag of pork rinds. Too many deer heads detract from the decor. Spittin' is such a nasty habit. I just couldn't find a thing at Wal-Mart today. Checkmate. She's too young to be wearing a bikini. Does the salad bar have bean sprouts? Hey, here's an episode of "Hee Haw" that we haven't seen. I don't have a favorite college team. Be sure to bring my salad dressing on the side. You ALL. Those shorts ought to be a little longer, Darla. Nope, no more for me. I'm drivin' tonight. -
This is the best coyote hunter I've ever seen or heard of right HERE. I met Randy at our Sportman's Cathouse here last fall. He was pretty laid back and friendly, as he now works for Primos. But before that, I had viewed his dvd's many times. They are fairly long (no short-changing with Randy) with superb narration, as Randy is a Nebraska good-ol-boy. Lots of action on coyotes and bobcats. I have the verminator one as well. Randy uses the howling calls, which is how you really get into a coyotes brain. But you have to know what all these sounds mean to a coyote to effectively use them. Randy REALLY knows how to think like one, and he passes this info to you in the vids. I highly recommend Randy's vids/dvd's to all here. Well worth the money. I like to play mine in the off-months, and then get out and scare off all coyotes within' hearing distance of me, lol.

Shiras, that is just about a beautiful German Brown! Back in my fishin' days of 20+ years ago, I always hoped for one like that. Never got it done, and gave up. Congrats, and thanks for posting. kphunter, I read your entire article, believe it or not. Sure don't know what any of it means, but thanks for posting here. Stick around................and don't be shy, okay?

Hey Stanley, That is some funny stuff, man. Don't mind if I copy & paste and send it around, do ya? Thanks for the entertainment.
