The Ghost. Unit 40B South Tinajas Altas Mountains. The WM caught a glimpse of him Summer of 2015 and that was the last sighting of the glorious ol' boy. We have not seen him on cam since mid summer 2015. I ran into him once while scouting my hunt year 2012. At 70 yards I just about soiled myself. Rams always look funny when they run, but the fun part about watching him was the fact that he had to stop and cock his head a certain way in order to see me because of those horns. He is a true legend and I know I will spend some time looking around for his remains. #redramsrule

There is a list printed with names, score, unit of kill, and first choice #'s. It is procured directly from the GFD individually, then circulated heavily via email. -
Middle of nowhere desert muley. Closest farm is about 28 miles.

The running joke is that the hunter has been residing under a Palo Verde tree out there for the last 4 months. He did it all himself, I've known him since we were born and he is an animal when it comes to hunting.

azdeserthunter, The Big Boy or Ghost is the legend that dreams are made of simply because he is a Ghost. I got to come face to face with him while scouting by myself and that was enough for me. I would rather have a ram like him roam my favorite mountain range for as long as I live if only in my dreams. I was stoked last year to help a man that hunted hard carry a smaller ram off of a very tough hill. When I was asked how he scored my reply was "Awesome". The best part of my hunt was the time spent learning about these magnificent animals. I value the time I get to spend on water projects and I do stop and take the time to do repairs on water holes when out by myself. I have the ram of my dreams in my living room, I have the memory of my hunt in my head, I have the friends that helped me in my life, and I have my guides money in my bank account. My prerequisite for sheep hunting was to find the ram that I loved and I did. Not because of his score, but because he has red horns and I knew from a mile away that he was the challenge that I needed in my life.

By my September pics of the "Ghost" you better hurry. He has been healthy in all previous years photos but lately is traveling alone and tired. I swear to the good lord that if he disappears without a tag on his horns I will spend a lifetime looking for his bones. I don't even think Ol' Flair will be the same without the big boy to keep him going. Jay, I would really like to share more pics with you for your best opinion of the old man's score.

Congrats on your tag Tom. There is an awesome inventory of those Red Horned Devils down there and you won't be disapointed. We'll see ya on the Camino del Diablo. Good luck. DP

As Heat said it helps a lot if you hunt close to home. My pals all wanted to help and I couldn't keep the guys that live close away from scouting. Daddy told me when I was a kid, "The hard part is getting drawn, it ain't hard finding sheep, it's hard finding the one you want." God bless his soul, he was right on all accounts. 2012 was my luckiest year on record, drew an awesome tag and harvested an awesome ram that I am proud of. I had 11points and I can see the mountain I killed on from my back porch. IF you draw the tag, the most important thing is to find one of those stinkers that you are happy with and proud of, after all, you are the one that has to live with him the rest of your life, hanging as close to your bed as the missus will allow. REDRAM, REDRAM, REDRAM!!!! Yes I am obsessed with the red rams. DP
