    MEAT

Take it to Von Hansens in Chandler and you can have them process it in to the Sausage sticks.... They are so good and they will keep and take up less space. Free up the space in the freezer and you can have the meat sticks for your pack or whenever. That's what I would do.

    DIRTBAG ARCHERY ELK HUNTER

I don't know about all you guys but I don't have all the time and money to go scouting every week or weekend. I don't really use trail cameras but I have used them a few times. And I Have had my camera tampered with. Someone cut the wires to my solar panel and the batteries died. It really sucked when I drove 3 hrs to check my camera after waiting 2 weeks to see what was coming in and I have a few pics of some guys clipping the wires. It sucked. Wasted the little time I did have. I don't really understand why anyone would mess with someone else's stuff. Don't turn it off. Don't touch it. It is not yours. They only take pictures of things that are within a certain distance. If you are gonna sit a water tank, don't sit next to the camera. If a bull comes in and you don't want the camera to go off, shoot the bull before it gets close to the camera. I don't buy the flash thing either. The water hole doesn't belong to the guy with the camera. But it doesn't belong to the guy hunting either. Bottom line, don't touch other people's stuff. If it is not yours, leave it alone. That's the right thing to do.

    New fire in 36C

I was down there on friday and Saturday. When I pulled in on Friday the firefighters were pulling out. They told us it burned 6000 acres. And yes it did burn all that country west of the ranch. We spent some time in there anyway but did not see many deer. I was gonna hunt there this weekend but am now scrambling to make alternate plans.

    The Claw

I used the Claw to shoot my buck this year. I didn't have any problems with it and i would not have been able to make the shot any other way. Meaning, a bipod (which I have), or prone on a pack would not have worked. I was on a downhill slope shooting uphill. I love shooting prone and think it is the best shooting position but this worked well for me. I didn't think it was that expensive either. I've seen similar products that were just as expensive but not as nice as the claw. Plus, a good point was made, with as much time, money, and effort as we put into hunting, to have a piece of equiptment that helps close the deal it well worth the cost. Just my two cents.

    My December Hunt

    Awesome. Nice buck.
  14. Sad situation. Malik has spent millions of dollars in this state to hunt. I heard that he actually shot the bull from a legal distance from the houses but the bull ran closer after the shot. Who knows what the truth really is? I did also hear that the G&F officer lied about what he had told the hunter and guide. Again, just what i heard. I know for a fact that these officers are trained in interogation tactics and use them in the field. It's good know the law and your rights when hunting in the field. What they can and can't do, legally. Anyway, terrible for all involved.
  15. We backpacked a few miles into our hunting area and on the last day of hunting I shot this little 3x3. I was hoping for a better buck but it is a nice buck none the less and very happy with him. A few days before my hunt I purchased a tripod gun mount called "the Claw" and I am so glad I had it. I shot my buck from a very steep hillside and I was shooting uphill. There was no way I could have made the shot laying down or from my bipod. I had a rock solid rest on my tripod with "the Claw" and made a one shot kill at 475 yards. My pack on the way out was super heavy but well worth it. Enjoy

    November Buck

Thanks, the pack is the Eberlestock Dragonfly J 107. It is a sweet pack. The Claw is great. It's just one of those things that is great to have handy and it doesn't take up much room.

    Have you seen me?

Are you kidding me??? Those are some awesome horns. I hope you find and kill that buck. Actually, I hope I find and kill that buck. Haven't seen that buck yet Good luck.
  18. Here are some field photos of the buck I kill in Mexico Jan. 2008. It was an awesome hunt. Good weather, fantastic food and company. We hunted hard and saw some rut activity by smaller bucks but the big bucks were not rutting. I glassed this buck on the first evening diwn there. He was a mile away and I got brief video of him through a spotting scope. After watching the video that night we knew he was a great buck. I hunted this buck for the next three days and on the evening of the 4th day he came out right before dark. I left my pack and took my rangefinder, rifle, and my 10's. I ran to the next ridge and found him right where I'd seen him last. Ranged him real quick at 250 yards and put the smack down on him. When I walked up to him he was even heavier than I had imagined. Almost every point, including his eyeguards are bladed. He just has awesome character. I am thrilled to killed such a great buck.

    My mexico 2008 buck

hey keith, that's pretty funny coming from a guy who doesn't even like to hunt. I could however teach you a thing or 2 about bass fishing! What are you doing on this site anyway?

    My mexico 2008 buck

Thanks. Saw this buck on the first night we were down there and video taped him through a spotting scope at 1500 yards. I hunted this buck for the next 3 days and killed him in the same area on the 4th night. Taped him at 111 3/8. He has awesome mass throughout and almost every point is palmated. He actually looks bigger than he scores because of the mass. I'll post some field photos later.
