Wishing everyone on CWT a Happy New Year! Best of luck to all in the hunts coming up. I have an archery javelina AND an archery deer tag for January. This will be my first time archery hunting in January. I also have a HAM javelina tag for February. That's starting out the New Year on the right track!

I forgot to say it was a smaller male dog. -
Just got my deer and Mt lion tag at Phoenix office. 40 minute wait, not too bad.

Couestracker replied to ArizonaWildernessHunter's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Wow man, that's a cool buck! Looks bigger than 107 though. Awesome regardless. Great story and pictures to go with it. Congratulations and welcome to the site. -
What an awesome deer your son arrowed! You did a great job on the mount too. Congratulations to both of you.

Wow, those TXS' are bada$$!!

That's a neat buck, and a 220 yard shot for a muzzle loader is pretty awesome too! Congratulations on a successful hunt.

I studied ballistics charts, then chose the .270 WSM. It has better ballistics then a Weatherby magnum. I first bought a Tika in stainless and grey laminated stock, called a whitetail hunter I believe, then sold it and got a Winchester Coyote Outback. I like both guns, but I bought them for deer and antelope because of their long range. I wouldn't hesitate to hunt elk with it, but I have a .325 WSM or a .338 Win mag I use for elk (when I get a tag). Hope this helps.....

Isn't there a holder/adapter for the tripod? My 10x42's have an adapter. That won't fit 12x50's?

Excellent ram! I hope to get a tag someday. How many bonus points did you have when you drew?

I'm interested in acquiring coues deer art as well. I have a friend who's an artist and does pointillism sketches. Here' a photo of one. It's not a good picture, I'll take a good one later and repost.

Congrats on a nice buck, good story too!

So an arrow is an aircraft? And a bullet is an aircraft? Uh....no.....those are projectiles, powered/unpowered utilizing an airfoil, fixed wing or rotary. Bottom line...drones would not be legal.

When I hunt with a partner, 2 way radios with earbuds. We have been most successful when one calls the other when something is spotted. That plus butt pad/stool , and shade-have a 4x6 reminant of leafy wear and some small spring clips. Can make shade or a blind almost anywhere.
