Kodiak Flex Bow tent and Mr buddy heater question.
Couestracker replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in The Campfire
Also have the big Kodiak tent, use buddy heater only while getting ready to go to sleep, or in the a.m. to warm tent up before getting out of sleeping bag. 2 things I did to improve the situation even more, was I cut a piece of carpet from lowes, the thin cheaper tan stuff, to fit the tent floor. Really makes it cozy inside, plus hated cold plastic on feet. To store it, fold in thirds long ways, then fold ends to center of length, then roll from one end as tight as you can. Secure with a cut piece of thick rope or boat dock line, and carry by that. Actually winds up smaller than tent in storage bag. The other is longer 12" stakes and aluminum large "fender" washers from finer Ace Hardware stores for anchoring the tent down. Hate those plastic hook things on cheaper stakes. Also get a old style shower curtain hook, that clips closed on itself, for keeping all the washers together in your stake bag. -

I drew 37B HAM hunt, 1st choice, and early turkey in 27, second choice. 1st choice was for Gould's, got tag 318 of 450 for unit 27.

Got hit for javelina and turkey! Good luck out there!
-
Good luck man! Haven't drawn an elk tag in NM since NR's could apply for cows.

AZGFD has enacted laws against bringing certain animal parts into Arizona from out of state. These "parts" are typically what you bring home after a successful hunt, at least I do. Some of the changes; * Meat has to be deboned or processed * Capes cleaned so there's no soft tissue * Skulls or skull plates and teeth free of soft tissue * Velvet antlers have to be treated It's going to force hunters to either do a lot of extra work out in the field, which would be tough to do in warm weather, or have animal processed in that state, including taxidermy. The other option is not hunt out of state. I've hunted in New Mexico for 15 years, this New rule May change that. Here's the link to the notification: https://www.azgfd.com/arizona-game-and-fish-department-enacting-changes-to-protect-arizonas-elk-and-deer-from-chronic-wasting-disease/
-
Not even close to the same. Border cares about paperwork and ticks, that's it. CWD is of no concern with them. They never even look at the deer meat.
-
Since I have a whitetail tag there for October, I called New Mexico Game and Fish to discuss the matter, and to inquire about meat processors and taxidermist. I was surprised to find out they didn't know Arizona was doing this.
-
Good point, however it does mention elk and deer: "by enacting rules regarding the possession and transportation of elk and deer into Arizona "
-
This is about CWD, which effects cervids, elk and deer. I assume the rule is effective immediately, since no date was given.
-
I have no idea. I have never let my kill party with, or have contact with, a live deer/elk, which is only way to spread the disease.
-
Ha ha....hijacked! Oh well. I got a leftover coues tag in 35A, so I'm headed back!
-
Nice color! Congratulations!
