    bot fly larvae

I've never heard of them. Got any pictures? I'll try and remember to look at my next deer. I'm figuring that there's no cause to worry about the meat?

  4. Has anyone tried this on a hunt? How about pros & cons to the idea? Thanks for any input.

    1976 Unit 2B

Cool picture. I was just graduating high school. Thanks for posting.
  7. I'm not sure exactly what year this was, Tucson in the early '60's I'm thinking. I'm pretty sure he took it out of unit 29. Can anyone I.D. the rifle or scope? After seeing that buck with hide on and wrapped in a canvas tarp, it's no wonder my Grandmother hated venison.

we lost a good one today.

Again, congratulations on your awesome elk and hunt. I feel for you about your Grandfather. I loved and idolized my Grandfather. I was too young to hunt with him and by the time I was old enough, he had health issues and passed when I was 19. I got to go with him and my Dad and Uncle deer hunting in unit 29, and have vague but fond memories of that. They're all gone now, and I still prefer going and hunting in 29 every chance I get. Don't mean to be making it about me, just saying savor the time you had with him and cherish those memories. Best regards, Tommy

    Zipper on my tent broke

I hate it when my tent zipper breaks and my pole sticks out! Sorry, couldn't resist that opportunity. Try REI, I've heard they do that kind of stuff.

My unit 9 bull **New pictures and story added**

That's an awesome bull Casey! Glad your papa helped you out. Looking forward to hearing the whole story. It must have been an emotional hunt for you.

    Would you hunt alone?

I hunt alone most of the time, when I'm the only tag holder. My family doesn't like me to, but I gotta hunt! Good planning and being extra careful is a must. I leave a note on my truck windshield in camp with my planned hunt area for that day (drive my Polaris Ranger to area).
