Mentored a veteran on PVCI's second Hunt for Hero's Predator Hunt. Unfortunately I wasn't able to call in anything for him to drop. He was hurting bad Saturday afternoon and called it quits. I went out where I saw some fresh badger holes and called in my first badger. Mean and stinky little guys! It was a male, little more than 9lbs.

Tim Pender. Now there's a name I haven't heard in forever. Tim Pender's a full mount? ☺

Thanks TJ. Boy, I hear you about busy! Gotta love retirement. Sometimes I don't know if I'm coming or going! But it's fun.

I took the badger I got Saturday to my taxidermist and he had my bear skull ready for me. It shrunk a little, now at 18 3/4".

What does that mean?

I haven't seen that ammo before. I ended up with a Tru-Glo Gobble Stopper for my Browning. Tightest choke out there and I like the straight rifling groves in it, plus the ported end. I've killed 2 birds at 70 yards with 3 1/2" heavyshot #7.

Go to the turkey seminars and try them out. Slightly different sounds means a different hen to the tom. If Ammon is doing a seminar, he'll have several to choose from (recommended).
