New KUIU Pieces-Super Down Jacket and Merino 230 Zip-T
azcoues replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
very nice,i will have to check them out, thanx for the update, let us know how they work out on your mexico hunt ...the only problem with down is the that thee material rips so easy ,basically not good in brushy country i have had to sew my down jacket several times because of that but you cant beat the weight for backpack hunts and those jackets are very warm almost too hot at times. -
looks like unit 6a.

i think it has to do with the weather ...rainfall some areas had good antler growth some crappy, but regardless he is a neat buck i am a sucker for eyeguards too but we cant have all the bells and whistles it seems..unless you spend tons of money ...but he is a heck of a buck, congrats.i see you are a firefighter, I am a flight medic for native air/omni flight maybe we will meet someday..take care.

we caught some big halibut in alaska and all fish had worms in them it was freaky they were somewhat translucent to the filleted meat but moving around we still ate the halibut.

hope you lay a tag on a booner buck i love hunting coues in the snow, and yeah the late rifle bull hunt was terrible up there too warm and if this storm would have taken place then i am positive lots of bulls would have hit the dirt or snow for that matter....good luck and shoot strait.i bet you are seeing tons of tracks of both elk and deer hope you got a lion tag this weather is perfect for cat hunting,a buddy of mine is a lion guide and he is out day and night driving roads trying to catch a track,he got his client a big tom cat onsunday said it was treed about 10 minutes after dogs were released...fun fun fun!

awesome story we were in the same unit but didnt fare as well but still had good times chasin them sneaky suckers warmest hunt i have ever been on for a latebull hunt 7 days only 3 bulls spotted no shots ,6a hasreally been pressured game and fish need to re-evaluate the tag allotment because there are way too many hunters ,that unit has taken a big hit on the herd the last 4 years, seems like everytime we would stop in at clints well all the success and nice bulls were coming out of units 5a and 5b,interesting,anyways glad you got yourself an elk for both you and PA.
