So are any of you guys on here going to the PM hunt this weekend? Im heading out tomarow. see you there. Clint
-
Well we had a decent weekend even with Fridays weather. We called in 2 fox and 16 coyotes. I got to hunt with some new friends and a old one. Any of you that are considering ever coming to a PM hunt should really try and make it, they are all a bunch of great guys and everyone has a great time. I got to help a new guy from New Jersey get his first coyote and it was pretty exciting for him seeing all the animals coming to the call. Here are a few pics.

no, they aren't, usually the higher the elevation the nicer the fur. i believe he put that in there to prove a point about the prices being decent. Clint

It is a hunt put on by predatormasters.com

are you partners in the southern AZ club?
-
HICAP40, you do a lot of the competitions? were you planing on hunting down south or the high country @ the ant eaters? you guys missed out it was a great time.
-
Coues Sniper, Im glad you liked it. you should try and make one of these hunts down here. Clint

from what i got from his post he said all he kept was the tail. so i doubt he will be selling or tanning it, so salt will be fine to dry it out. It isn't going to last forever but its done.
-
With tails you want to split them all the way down, but i am sure if you salted it pretty good it will last for awhile before it starts to slip. Coues Sniper, Those predator obsession videos have some skinning demonstrations on then, i believe the 1st one has a coyote and the 2nd a bobcat. did you get a chance to watch them?

As for camping if you take the 142 road north from ashfork there is a bunch of great spots to camp. In the years past you receive a colored raffle ticket for every animal you check in. so the more you call the better chance you have @ the prizes. good luck out there! Clint

Mike , you should join there group, they are new and i am sure they could use some more members. if i lived closer i sure would.
-
yup, this site is better. o the xpc got whooped by the apc. they seem like a heck of a group though, i was at a camp out a few month ago with some of the member and they seemed like a great bunch of guys, where do you work with the member?
-
hey if you do buy one make sure and mention my name so i can get my 1000.00 commission. thanks.
-
Coues Sniper, they dont hate them, what forums did you ask on?
-
Mike35, ask your buddy @ the xpc how the multi club hunt went. there isnt anything wrong with mouth or elect. but those e callers really shine in a lot of areas. windy days, hunting thick cover, when you are out by yourself, pulling them out of cover, and being able to switch sounds. i have called more then i can remember with both and do enjoy mouth calls a lot but the advantages are pretty good with a ecall. its kinda like hunting archery or muzzy loader vrs. rifle. every one has there preferred method. i bet the reason for not getting may responses, is not from those predator hunting boards being anti electronic call, but more because that question has been asked more then a few times.

it depends how serious you are into calling on what caller to chose. i have used or hunted with almost all of them out there. for me i chose the foxpro because of how easy it is to add sounds and the options on the remote, in my opinion it has the best remote out there. but if you don't do a lot of calling then it is hard to justify spending 700.00. but if you consider the the going rate for fur it can pay for its self in as little as 1 year depending on how often you hunt.
