None of the bucks off that ranch will be eligible for the record book right? If they are they shouldn't be. It's all about the (hunt) to me...Score is just a bonus. Paying for a farm raised deer in an enclosed area doesn't appeal to me at all. What happened to fair chase?

I like my knives of Alaska as well.... I carry the cub bear, & the alpha wolf. they hold a great edge & I have used both of them on everything from coues to moose. Outdoor edge are great too, I use these around the shop. My set came with a sharpener that is quick & easy to use. They didn't come with sheaths so I use mine for work. I like small pocket knives like buck, old timer, shrade, etc...For detail work such as caping out the head or skinning out paws & hooves.Only thing I don't like about these little lock blades is they're harder to keep clean than fixed blades. Also, these knives I mentioned are cheap & you can get them just about anywhere. I also use a scalpel like redman mentioned. You can get 100 replacement blades for around $30.00. But like shortpants said, you need to have a steady hand because they are extremely sharp!!! I like my knives of Alaska as well.... hey everyone,I forgot to mention in my first post about coues capes, that I also need a few mature bull elk capes as well.I will take 50% off a antlers on panel or a european mount/boil & bleach with cape exchange, that's a $100.00 value. The capes need to be mature bulls in good condition, not cut short, not salted, and kept as cool as possible or frozen. Thanks, azwtcrzy

Thanks for the kind words jim. I thought it would take you a little longer than my (first) post to figure out it was me!!! i should have known better. I put that signature up after you replied, got ya!!! & no, your capes are fine. Bret

Not that I expect a mature buck, but where are you located? Can the cape be frozen? Redman Yes it can be frozen. Fold it up skin to skin, hair side out & wrap it up in a plastic bag as air tight as you can to prevent freezer burn. I'm a taxidermist out in surprise & need extra capes for customer mounts & I have a couple of racks I'd like to mount up for shop display. Good luck on your hunt Redman. azwtcrzy
